This journey started one night in Nikki Wulf's head. When Nikki
was a young pre-teen, she created a character named Azuki, with the
dream of making a manga that everybody could relate to, love, and
cherish. Her closest friend, Richard Almonte, embarked on a journey
with her to create a story about the main character's journey to
self discovery and rising above hardships in life.
The story of Zero Hero follows Azuki, a washed up hero turned
online content creator, is called back into action when the
deadliest villain escapes into the world again. She is the only one
with the ability to stop him, but this trial will prove to be hard
on her as she has to break past her hardships and traumas.
The goal for this campaign is to raise awareness of
mental health in a world that can be cruel and lonely at times. We
want to have a hero that everyone can relate to and find themselves
being able to use this inspiration to help get them through their
daily life.
For the campaign goal:
We hope to raise the $35k listed for the reasons below
- PAY OUR ARTISTS -
Each panel costs between $150-300 depending on how detailed the
scene is.
For character design, each character ranges between
$100-250 per.
Promotional items such as posters, wall papers, etc
range between $250-700
Song(s) cost around $500-1200 to produce.
- PRINTING OF THE BOOK -
To make a volume of 150-200 pages costs roughly about $25,000-
$30,000
Printing is about $2,130 for 1,000 units
- DISTRIBUTION -
Distribution is also a factor and we are looking into publishing
companies that will pick up this project in the future.
