dSphere is a sculpture based on a spherical dodecahedron - constructed of a single repeating molded plywood component - held together with round steel bands.
Many handholds and steps invite everyone to climb up and into the geometry, with a top net creating a highest vantage point. The interior creates a central space to relax and enjoy the shapes and forms of the structure.
The artwork is inspired by the fly's eye domes of Buckminster Fuller and the molded plywood creations of Ray and Charles Eames.
The sculpture will be installed at Burning Man 2024 in Nevada.
