What is the Talking Walls Mural Festival?
TALKING WALLS strives to show the world in a highly visible way that the city of Charlotte, North Carolina is a creative hub and a city that supports and welcomes artistic influencers.
We hate beige, boring & bland walls! We want to push the vibrancy of Charlotte through beautiful works of mural art. Even during a pandemic, we come together safely to grow the city's mural collection. Join Us!
What We Need
Simply put, we need community funding to pull off this festival. If you donate to this campaign, this is where your dollars are being spent:
- We provide each artist a stipend for their time & energy
- We provide all the paint for the artists
- We provide all the hydraulic lifts & equipment for artists
- We provide hotels, airfare, & travel accommodations for artists
- We provide food and drinks for the artists while they are in town
In addition, the production costs to pull this off add up quickly: runners, transportation, documentation (i.e. photographers & videographers) signage, insurance, events, security, etc.
The only area where your dollars don't go is to the leadership of Talking Walls. We are 501(c)3 Non-Profit that is completely driven by a small group of community volunteers.
The Impact
Every year, when the festival is complete, Charlotte will be the home to many highly visible, vibrant & massive works of mural art.
- Our goal is to paint in as many new locations as possible each year to increase the total number of murals Charlotte has to offer, thereby increasing the vibrancy of the city.
- Murals are a great way to show the public that Charlotte is open for business and that we support local art.
- You are investing in your city, your landscape, your culture, and your community.
- We are moving art out of the museums and into the streets. Free for all to enjoy for years to come!
