The Silence of TENGRI - Burning Man Honorarium 2024
"The Silence of TENGRI” is a wolf shaped metal sculpture, adorned with six wings, its head raised in a howling position while standing on a sacred cliff.
Tengrism is an ancient Central Asian religion that has profoundly impacted Mongolian culture, emphasizing harmony with nature and veneration of the Sky God Tengri.
The Wolf is a mythical spiritual creature in the animal kingdom and
with it's power of silent inner peace, allows us to connect with our
Ancient Sacred Universe.
“The Silence of TENGRI” is a symbolic awakening
transmitter for the unity of humanity as ONE.
Physical Dimension's:
Physical Dimension's:“The Silence of TENGRI” will be a metal sculpture standing 12' tall, 6' wide by 10' long.
"The Silence of TENGRI" will stand on a metallic mirrored base, illuminated by solar powered colorful lights. The six wings and head will be kinetic.
At the top of every hour TENGRI will howl at the sky.
Throat singing along with other Mongolian inspired music will play.
Hand tooled metal will be the "fur" of TENGRI.
About the artist:
TURBURAM SANDAGDORJ aka STuro
STuro was born in a family of artists in city of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The youngest of six artistic children, STuro was the only child in the family to become a professional artist, like his father, whom he credits as a primary source of his own inspiration.
STuro discovered his love of large scale sculpture by being one of 16 international artists as part of Burning Man Honorarium 2022 "Wild Horse of the American West" project.
In 2023 STuro was named a Burning Man Honorarium with his project "The Spirit of the Healing Siren".
STuro considers himself primarily an historical artist and a metal
sculptor.
Influenced by both Eastern and Western artistic traditions,
as
well as Eastern religious philosophies, STuro's artistic
vision is
above all steeped in his abiding love of his native
land: the rugged
open steppes, the horses that are an intrinsic
part of Mongolian
culture, and its rich, colorful history.
STuro currently lives in Reno, Nevada.
