Orcas Bakery is a community-focused, member-owned co-op in Eastsound on Orcas Island. Started by passionate, professional island bakers and business people, we're passionate about nourishing, handmade sourdough breads and baked goods that celebrate the bounty of Orcas Island and the Pacific Northwest with real food, thoughtful sourcing, and community engagement.

Orcas Bakery is a community gathering place, providing the best food we can to island residents and visitors. We support the institutions that feed our community, including Island Market, the Orcas Food Co-op, and the Orcas Island Food Bank.

Food we trust

We use nourishing ingredients. We thoughtfully source from the San Juan Islands, nearby Skagit Valley, and the Pacific Northwest. That means real food. We ferment slowly using wild yeast and flavor-yielding microorganisms. We value the taste and nutrients of our island’s seawater. And we prioritize organic, sustainable, and regenerative ingredients to be the best stewards for our community’s future.

Orcas experience

We bake to connect with the island and its generosity. Our food celebrates our local growers, respects our bakers and staff, and sustains our community. We are proud to honor the island’s history with elements from the beloved Roses Bakery, such as the imposing four-deck bread oven, giant bread mixer, and vintage bread slicer. Orcas Island has long been a haven for artists and artisans, and we hope to add to that abundance of creativity through baking.
