This is the story of a squad of Combat Engineers as they go from the training grounds of Ft. Devens, Massachusetts to the battle ground of Europe. Told from the perspective of an old soldier who remembers his brotherhood of warriors.
He was among a squad of combat engineers who found themselves serving alongside companions who were gay. Despite the prevailing prejudices of the time, and amidst the chaos of training and battle, they all find the true nature of comradeship in war. He is among compassionate, resilient, and courageous individuals who share the same dedication to their mission, whether straight or gay. That is, until societal norms and military regulations step in to erode trust and friendship.
