A Call to the Heart: Supporting Renee Boje’s Botanical & Feminine Wisdom Project

A Story Woven in Love, Nature, & the Divine Feminine

My name is Renee Boje, & I have walked the path of the Sacred Feminine for as long as I can remember.

From the earliest whispers of childhood, I felt an unshakable bond with Mother Nature, an ancient knowing that pulsed in my being whenever I stood barefoot upon the Earth, hands outstretched to the wind, soul intertwined with the rhythm of the trees and the song of the rivers.  The plants spoke. The flowers sang. The Divine Feminine called me home.

As I grew, I began to understand that this connection, so natural, so innate—was not always nurtured in the world around me. The ancient relationship between people and plants, especially within feminine-centered traditions, had in many ways been overlooked or set aside.

Yet I felt called to remember.

To listen more deeply.
To learn from the wisdom of the Earth.
And to share that connection in ways that are creative, accessible, and rooted in care.

This calling has shaped the path I walk today—as a botanical creator, writer, and space-holder devoted to reconnecting people, especially women, with the beauty, symbolism, and supportive qualities of plant allies

🌿 A Turning Point: Walking a Difficult Path with Integrity

Shortly after graduating from Loyola Marymount University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, I was offered an opportunity to illustrate a book.

The project focused on medical marijuana in California during a time of legal transition—when it had been approved at the state level under Proposition 215, yet remained illegal under federal law. Like many others at that time, I did not fully grasp the complexity or potential consequences of this legal contradiction.

What began as a creative and professional opportunity soon evolved into a deeply challenging chapter of my life.

I became connected to a situation that carried serious legal implications, despite not having caused harm to anyone. As the landscape shifted and pressures mounted, I was faced with difficult choices that would shape my path for years to come.

Rather than compromising my integrity or speaking against others, I made the decision to step away from my life in the United States and begin again in Canada.

It was not an easy path.
But it was one that shaped me profoundly.

During those years, I continued to deepen my connection to the natural world, botanical traditions, and the inner work that has guided my life ever since.

What could have been an ending became a beginning—one that led me toward a life devoted to healing, creativity, and building something meaningful and grounded.

🌿 A Life Reimagined: From Challenge to Purpose

In the face of uncertainty, I made the difficult decision to leave behind everything familiar and begin again in Canada.

What followed was a complex and highly visible legal process that unfolded over the course of nearly a decade. During that time, I remained committed to navigating the situation with integrity, patience, and respect for the legal system.

While it was not an easy chapter, it ultimately led to resolution—and the opportunity to build a new life in Canada, where I am now proud to be a citizen.

During this time, I also became a mother, which deepened my commitment to creating stability, purpose, and a meaningful path forward.

In 2002, I took my first steps into entrepreneurship by opening a small herbal apothecary in Vancouver—an effort to support myself and my young son while continuing to follow my calling toward botanical work.

Those years required resilience, courage, and a deep trust in the path I was walking.

What could have been a period of loss became, instead, a time of profound personal transformation.

Through reflection, study, and lived experience, I continued to deepen my relationship with botanical traditions, creative expression, and the wisdom of the natural world.

🌸 A Life Devoted to Healing & the Sacred Feminine

Out of those years, a clear sense of purpose emerged.

I began creating spaces where women could gather in safety, reconnect with themselves, and explore their relationship with nature, creativity, and inner healing.

This work evolved into what I now offer through my botanical creations, writing, and community-centered experiences—rooted in care, integrity, and a deep respect for the role of plants in supporting wellbeing.

🌿 What I’ve Built: A Life of Botanical Creation & Women’s Wellness

Over the years, I have devoted myself to building spaces, offerings, and products rooted in botanical knowledge, creativity, and the empowerment of women.

I co-founded a plant-focused spiritual community in Vancouver, creating space for individuals to explore personal growth, connection, and inner healing.

I went on to open Urban Shaman, one of Vancouver’s early botanical and herbal retail spaces, offering plant-based products and education rooted in traditional wisdom and modern wellness.

I later founded Shakti Blissful Botanicals, a line of handcrafted botanical creations inspired by feminine archetypes, sensory experience, and the art of natural formulation.

On the Sunshine Coast, I founded the Plant Spirit Medicine Society, where I created gathering spaces for women to come together in seasonal workshops, herbal crafting experiences, and nature-based practices aligned with the rhythms of the year.

Through this work, I supported women in reconnecting with themselves, their creativity, and the natural world in grounded and meaningful ways.

🌿 Freja’s Magic Potions

This work has now evolved into my current focus: Freja’s Magic Potions.

Freja’s Magic Potions is a botanical wellness brand inspired by goddess traditions, herbal knowledge, and the creative, sensory experience of working with plants.

Through this business, I create handcrafted herbal products designed to support wellbeing, self-connection, and everyday ritual—blending traditional inspiration with modern, accessible use.

In addition to my product line, I continue to offer workshops and educational experiences rooted in botanical creativity, many of which have grown out of the work I began through the Plant Spirit Medicine Society.

Each step of my journey has been guided by a simple belief:

That our connection to the natural world—and to ourselves—can be nurtured through creativity, care, and intentional relationship with plants.

Through my work, I aim to support that connection in ways that are accessible, grounded, and meaningful in everyday life.

My book, Plant Spirit Medicines & the Divine Feminine, is ready to be brought into the world.

This book is the culmination of my life’s work—a weaving of botanical knowledge, feminine wisdom, personal experience, and the stories that have shaped my path.

It explores the connection between goddess archetypes and the plants traditionally associated with them—from well-known botanicals like rose and lavender to other herbs that have long been part of women’s healing and creative practices.

Through this work, I offer a guide for those seeking deeper connection—with themselves, with nature, and with the symbolic and practical role that plants can play in everyday life.

It is both a creative and educational offering: a bridge between ancient inspiration and modern, grounded application.

Beyond the pages of this book, there is a promise I have carried in my heart for many years.

During my journey, I had the privilege of learning from Putanny Yawanawa, a respected female leader of the Yawanawa people of the Brazilian Amazon. Her strength, wisdom, and presence left a lasting imprint on my life and work.

At one point, she shared a vision with me—that one day, I would invite her to the Sunshine Coast to connect with women in our community and share in a meaningful cultural exchange.

This is a promise I have never forgotten.

Bringing this vision to life is part of what this campaign supports: creating opportunities for respectful collaboration, learning, and connection in a way that honors both community and tradition.
