The inspiration for GROUP comes from one of the most difficult experiences of my life: losing my mom.

When my mom passed away, I experienced grief in a way I never had before. I quickly realized that grief isn't something people experience the same way. Some people become angry, some try to bargain with what happened, some deny reality, and others struggle with depression. No two people grieve exactly alike.

As I navigated my own loss, I became interested in the idea of exploring grief through multiple perspectives. I wanted to tell a story that showed how different people can experience the same pain while coping with it in completely different ways.

GROUP was born from that idea.

My hope is that this film helps people who are struggling with loss feel understood. Whether someone has lost a parent, a friend, a partner, or simply feels alone during a difficult chapter of life, I want them to know that they are not alone. Grief can make us feel isolated, but one of the most important things I learned after losing my mom is that healing often begins when we're willing to share our experiences with others.

This film is my way of honoring that lesson and honoring her.

About the Project

GROUP is a character-driven drama centered around five strangers brought together by a grief support group. Each character represents a different stage of grief—denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance—as they navigate the challenges of loss and attempt to rebuild their lives.

Throughout the film, these characters form unexpected connections that help them confront difficult truths about themselves and the people they've lost. While the story deals with heavy themes, it is ultimately a hopeful film about healing, human connection, and finding purpose after tragedy.
