This is an invitation to meet the version of yourself you thought you’d left behind.

AZULITA was born through the waters.

It was during a ceremony. I was searching for the little blue girl - that elusive inner child I've been trying to retrieve for the last 8 years - the girl who had been lost for as long as I can remember. I caught a glimpse of her in the waters and so I kept looking for her in the waves. Sometimes I saw her… moving softly, almost like she had been there for centuries… but I couldn’t quite reach her. The name Azulita dropped straight into my consciousness.

This new collection of songs - so unexpected but insistent after the intensity of birthing Ways of the Dreamer last year - begins with this sense of reaching.

Over the past years, my music has carried grief, healing, motherhood and breath. While it is a continuation of this journey, AZULITA feels different. It brings in an element of trust and lightness that wasn't there before - there is more rhythm, more movement, and the overarching theme of surrender… a topic that has accompanied me deeply these last few months. 

These six songs - 7 tracks, including the spoken word opening - move through healing the inner child, softening the masculine, remembering the feminine, and learning to love deeply without holding too tightly. Multilingual, interwoven, and steeped in surrender. 

But more than that, AZULITA marks a shift.

Where Ways of the Dreamer was born through grief, endurance and slow transformation, these songs arrived differently. They came quickly and effortlessly… without planning or urgency and in rapid succession. They arrived the moment I stopped trying so hard… which is exactly what surrender is all about. 

If the last album was about surviving transformation, AZULITA is about trusting it.

It's a movement from holding to surrender... and from searching to a deep sense of belonging.

An invitation to come home to yourself, not by force, but by allowing, AZULITA is about interconnection, wholeness and letting go - and, in the process, discovering that you are already held.

The Dark Wild Goddess

A spoken word intro setting the tone for these 6 songs.

Azulita (Little Girl Blue)

A song of reclamation. Triggered by a powerful, clear image… The little girl hides in the waves, almost frozen by time and memory.

“I’m calling you back into life,
It’s not your time to freeze and die.”

Azulita is breath, movement, play. Calling that 'little girl blue', this small wanderer, back home. Sung in English and Spanish.

I Surrender (Bassalem)

Sung in English, Arabic and French, this song is all about letting go of resistance within us. 

“Like the darkness gives way to light,
I surrender the powers in me.”

It is surrender as alignment, like rivers meeting the sea… inspired by an image of grief unfolding in an ancient temple, it is also an embrace of my Egyptian lineage. 

Cura (The Waters)

An expanded cover of the original song by Rainer Scheurenbrand, Cura weaves the Portuguese lyrics from his composition with English lyrics and melody written by me - creating a new sonic and emotional journey. It calls on Yemanjá, mother of the sea.

“Lay your weary bones into the waves and follow me.”

Cura is immersion, healing, release… continuing with the image of the waters and the clarity they bring. 

Tears Inside (Fluyen las Lágrimas)

Based on a poem written by my father, this song tells the story of a boy taught not to cry - and the man he becomes.

“In his mind his father tells him, ‘Boys don’t cry.
So he keeps his tears inside until they dry."

A song intended to heal generations, this is all about connecting with the masculine lineage through feeling more, not less. Features lyrics in English and Spanish.

Mother Moon (Mamãe Lua )

A conversation with the cosmic mother personified as the moon… and an acknowledgement that I am her daughter. 

“She sang, oh my child, you’re running pretty wild
It’s time to see, your reflection’s in me.”

Mother Moon does not control. She illuminates, reflects. This song honours the wisdom of the feminine - cyclical, steady, quietly powerful... The chorus is in Portuguese, the remainder of the song is in English.

Remember (Lokah Samastah)

Arriving unexpectedly months after the others were complete, this song felt like it needed to be in this collection and is now one of my favourite tracks.

“Remember where you came from, remember you are love.”

Remember is about holding and releasing in the same breath - grounding while allowing space to soar. With the Sanskrit prayer Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu woven through it, the song opens beyond the personal into something universal: loving deeply, trusting fully, and surrendering without losing yourself.

Lena Younes is a singer-songwriter, yoga and breathwork facilitator based in the Eastern Algarve, Portugal. Her music weaves voice, lineage and emotional inquiry into soundscapes that invite reflection, healing and connection.

Her debut album Ways of the Dreamer was described as “a quiet masterpiece” and “otherworldly and enchanting… a soul tool, calling us home to ourselves.” Reviewers praised the work for its “softness that’s never weak, a strength that’s tender… grounded vulnerability.

Since beginning her song-writing journey seven years ago, Lena has released music rooted in embodiment, motherhood, grief and transformation...  With her new songs interweaving multiple languages and cultural influences. Her work bridges art and healing, inviting listeners not only to hear the music, but to feel themselves within it.

AZULITA unfolds as the next chapter in that evolution.

✨ Why I’m Raising Funds

I have poured my own resources into the foundation of these songs; your support helps them find their wings. So far, I have spent £2,600 on recording and producing this collection.  

The core of the music is alive - three of the songs are nearing completion, the other three still need some finishing touches. 

To release AZULITA with care and professional finishing, I am raising £2,500 to support three essential areas:

2. Bringing AZULITA into the World

• Music video creation

• Visual content & filmed live sessions

• Distribution and release costs

3. Producing & Delivering Rewards

• Art print production

This target covers everything needed to complete and release AZULITA with the quality it deserves, together with more of my own funds.

Any support beyond this goal will allow for expanded music videos and additional musicians for future live performances.

Why Pounds (£)? Although I am based in the beautiful Algarve, my primary artist production costs are currently in the UK. When you check out, the platform will automatically convert the total into your local currency (Euros, etc.). I appreciate your understanding as this allows me to keep the administration simple so I can focus on the music.

Shipping with Care Everything other than the heavy yoga mats ships worldwide! Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location. Unfortunately shipping costs have increased in 2026 - the new pricing reflects this.

• Portugal: I have kept shipping as low as possible for the local community - free pick up is also an option within the Tavira and Aljezur areas.

• Heavy Items: For the Yoga Mats, please note that these are high-quality, weighted items. Shipping is a bit higher to ensure they arrive safely.
