Stamps Back, the 5th episode of the Moleman documentary series, is a 144-minute film about the golden age of Hungarian video gaming and the formation of the Hungarian demoscene in the 80s and 90s, which you can watch for free on YouTube. More than 76 hours of interviews were conducted for the film, which is a true document of the Hungarian home computer life in the 80s and 90s. You can now get this 76-hour material with English subtitles together with the film in a special Blu-Ray edition + downloadable image file format. Furthermore, as the second part of Moleman, which shows the state of the demoscene in 2012, can be considered a sequel to the Stamps Back, we have also added this film to the special edition, which now represents 3 50Gb Blu-Ray discs full of video game and demoscene content. If we reach the stretch goal, a 4th disc will be added to the edition, which will contain a selection of the best Hungarian intros and demos of the past 40 years in video format.

Please note! Every supporter who is entitled to the physical medium will have the opportunity to download the image files of the discs, so they will be able to watch it on their computer even if they do not have a Blu-Ray player. (Of course, they will also receive the physical medium.)

About Stamps Back

From Commodore 64s smuggled across the Iron Curtain to cracked games on cassette tapes sold at flea markets, floppy disk swapping via postal mail, hacked phone booths connected to US BBSes, and copy parties packed to capacity, Stamps Back tells the story of how teenagers in Hungary ignited a computing revolution in the 1980s with illegally copied video games from the West, and began the Hungarian demoscene.

Stretch goal - €20,000

If the amount of support reaches €20,000, the increased quantity will reduce the production cost per unit, so a fourth disc can be included in the collectors' edition at the same price. This disc will feature a selection of the best Hungarian intros and demos from the past 40 years in 50fps video format.

If the film is free to watch, why is this fundraiser necessary?

We received a lot of feedback that you would like to see the full-length interviews shot for the Stamps Back, just like for Moleman 4, in a physical special edition.

Since the production of such a publication is very costly, we can't finance its creation from our own resources. But now, with community funding, you have the opportunity to pre-order without any financial risk. If the minimum of 500 pre-orders (or an equivalent amount of support) needed for manufacturing is not reached, the system will not deduct the amount from the supporters at the end of the campaign. However, if the minimum amount is reached, we can produce the publication and everyone will receive their own copy.

A share can also help

If you would like to support the creation of the Collectors' Edition and to help as many people as possible learn about it, please share the campaign with your friends, and on forums and groups where people might be interested. As we don't have a marketing budget, we can only rely on the community for advertising. What will be on the 3 Blu-Ray discs?

Production and financial information

To ensure the best quality, the disks will be produced at Sony's factory in Austria. The production technology allows manufacturing from 500 copies, so if we don't get support for 500 copies (so fewer than 500 supporters are enough if the level of support reaches the production cost), unfortunately, the publication will not be able to proceed.

The price of the publication consists of the production costs, the price of the Blu-Ray license, the price of the Blu-Ray authoring software, and the processing fees of the payment. As the cost per copy decreases with a larger number, this allows a 4th disc to be included in the publication at the same price if we reach the second goal.

The ordered copies can be shipped worldwide for an additional fee.

Free personal pickup in 7 cities in Hungary

You can pick up your ordered copies in person at Konzolvilág stores. For in-person pickup, tick the "Pickup in-person" option when ordering, and later when submitting your details, enter the name of the city if you chose this option. Possible cities are Budapest, Debrecen, Győr, Miskolc, Sopron, Szeged, Veszprém.

Image files

Those whose support entitles them to the physical collectors' edition will also have access to the image files of the discs in downloadable form, so even without a Blu-Ray player, they will be able to watch them. The sharing is expected to happen via Google Drive, so please provide an email address associated with a Google account if you have one. This can be provided later, but it's simpler if you provide it now during the checkout process.

The expected delivery time is December 2023.

Of course, throughout the whole process, we will keep you informed about any developments that may affect the delivery time.

A filmhez több mint 76 órányi interjú készült, ami igazi kordokumentuma a 80-as és 90-es évek magyar otthoni számítógépes életének. Ezt a 76 órányi anyagot a filmmel együtt most egy díszdobozos Blu-Ray kiadvány + letölthető image file formájában te is megszerezheted. Sőt, mivel a Vakondok 2, ami a demoscene 2012-es állapotát mutatja be, a Stamps Back folytatásának is tekinthető, így ezt a filmet is hozzácsaptuk a díszkiadáshoz, ami így már 3db 50Gb-os Blu-Ray lemezt jelent tele videójátékos és demoscene tartalmakkal. Ha a támogatás mértéke eléri a €20.000-t, akkor az ennek köszönhető nagyobb példányszám miatt csökken az egy példányra jutó gyártási költség, így azonos ár mellett egy negyedik lemez is bele tud kerülni a gyűjtői kiadásba. Erre az elmúlt 40 év legjobb magyar intróiból és demóiból kerül majd egy válogatás 50fps videó formátumban.

Ha ingyen nézhető a film, akkor minek ez a pénzgyűjtés?

Rengeteg visszajelzést kaptunk, hogy szívesen látnátok a Vakondok 4-hez hasonlóan a Stamps Back-hez forgatott interjúkat is teljes hosszukban egy fizikai díszkiadás formájában.

Mivel egy ilyen kiadvány legyártatása igen költséges, így saját forrásból nem tudjuk annak létrejöttét előfinanszírozni. Közösségi finanszírozás segítségével most viszont lehetőséged van pénzügyi rizikó nélkül előrendelést leadni. Ha ugyanis nem jön össze a gyártáshoz minimálisan szükséges 500 darab előrendelés (illetve ezzel egyenértékű nagyságú támogatás), akkor a kampány végén a rendszer nem vonja le az összeget a támogatóktól. A minimum összeg elérése esetén viszont le tudjuk gyártatni a kiadványt, és mindenki megkapja a saját példányát.

Gyártási és pénzügyi információk

A legjobb minőség érdekében a kiadványt a Sony ausztriai gyárában fogjuk legyártatni. A gyártási technológia 500 példánytól teszi lehetővé a gyártást, így ha nem jön össze 500 példányra elegendő támogatás (tehát 500-nál kevesebb támogató is elég, ha maga a támogatás mértéke eléri a gyártási költséget), akkor sajnos nem fog tudni megvalósulni a kiadvány.

A kiadvány ára a gyártási költségekből, a Blu-Ray licenc árából, a Blu-Ray authoring szoftver árából, és a bankkártya kezelési költségeiből tevődik össze. Nagyobb darabszám esetén csökken az egy példányra jutó költség, így ennek köszönhetően tud azonos ár mellett egy 4. lemez is bekerülni a kiadványba, ha elérjük a második célt.

Ingyenes személyes átvétel az ország 7 városában

A megrendelt példányokat személyesen is átveheted a Konzolvilág üzleteiben. Személyes átvételhez pipáld be a "Pickup in-person" opciót a megrendeléskor, majd később az adataid kitöltésénél add meg a megfelelő város nevét a jelzett helyen, ha ezt az opciót választottad. Lehetséges városok: Budapest, Debrecen, Győr, Miskolc, Sopron, Szeged, Veszprém.

Image fájlok

Akinek a támogatása alapján jár a fizikai gyűjtői kiadás, az letölthető formában is hozzáfér majd a lemezek image fájlaihoz, így Blu-Ray lejátszó nélküli is meg tudja majd azokat nézni. A megosztás várhatóan Google Drive-on keresztül fog történni, így kérlek, ha van, adj meg egy olyan email címet amihez tartozik Google account. Ez később is megadható, de egyszerűbb, ha most a támogatás során megadod.
