Distinguished Presidential Citation Award – presented at SARA’s national convention, 1999.

1st Place Award for Design Excellence – Joint Venture Sheldon Stone and Geary, Moore & Ahrens for a new City of Oberlin Police Station and Jail. The Society of American Registered Architects, 1995.

• First Session On: H.R. 3564 - To require all educational admissions testing conducted through interstate commerce, and all occupational admissions testing (which affects commerce) to be conducted with sufficient notice of test subject matter and test results, and other purposes, and H.R. 4949 - To require certain information to be provided to individuals who take standardized educational admissions tests, and for other purposes.

Invited speaker and presented paper to the United Nations endorsed International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB) W70 2004 Hong Kong Symposium “The Human Elements of Facilities Management – Understanding the needs of the customers.” Paper titled “The Organization Behavior Component of Facilities Management – Becoming Part of the Business Process.”

• The paper remains included on the Fraunhofer IRB website. Fraunhofer IRB is Germany’s central facility for national and international knowledge transfer in planning and building. The Fraunhofer IRB website states that they include papers “mainly from German speaking countries.” Therefore, as an American, I took this as an honor.

“Membership Survey Results” - Executive Updates special edition of the monthly publication of the International Society of Facilities Executives (ISFE). The survey presented a number of organizational trends concerning in-house and outsourced real estate management - May 2002.

“The Complexities of Communications” – (based on research completed for the ISFE) lead editorial in Buildings magazine - October 2002

Coauthored the novel GateKEEPERS (© 2008) based on my true story with Professor Rudolf (Rudy) B. Schmerl, Ph.D. (deceased), who was a University of Michigan Associate Professor of Education. Rudy survived Hitler’s Nazi Germany.
