Per Our Last Conversation
I'm Corina Monoran, Director, Co-Writer and Producer of Per Our Last Conversation--Where There's a Contract, There's a Negotiation.
How The Story Came to Be
Working in education and corporate companies included attending contract negotiation meetings between faculty/staff and administrators. These meetings often started on a pleasant note and usually ended with emotions flared. Grown adults throwing shade and using ad hominem's like high school students trying to look cool. Coming to terms with an agreement was really about which side was going to win. Stare contests were underlined with personal feelings of desire or hate. Friendships were used as spy tactics and weaponized to get the other side to comply. Over time, I got the sense that contract negotiations weren't just about negotiations, they were about relationships between the people sitting on opposite sides of the table.
Story
Per Our Last Conversation is a story about interpretation. Not just about the contract language or which side sounds like they are winning, or if there is equal representation, but the deeper part, the parts you can't see on the surface. It's about zeroing in on two people who approach the table in a complex way, layered emotion, differing viewpoints on a personal and professional level.
We now have a provocative script and an incredibly dedicated cast and crew ready to breathe life into this script.
Our final step is funding our short film!
Our Ask to You
SaltiWords Productions is a small independent production company that relies on grants, volunteer work/service, and partnering with local businesses to create stories.
Your support/donation will help raise $11,500 to cover essential productions costs. We would love to be able to pay our actors and crew as well as fund pre-production expenses such as, meals, location usage, equipment, software, post-production (editing, sound, and score) and festival submissions to render the audience it deserves.
If this story intrigues you, we would truly value any contribution you can make. Every dollar, no matter the amount, directly funds this short film and helps us create meaningful, long lasting conversations about the human experience.
If contributing is not possible at this time, sharing our campaign with others can make just as much of an impact.
