The Bands
The Opera Cowgirls (New York/Texas/California) - Where Grand Opera meets the Grand Ol' Opry! The Cowgirls are thrilled to bring their unique brand of opera-country fusion to the Windy City (founder Caitlin McKechney's home town) for the first time.
The Rosina Project (Illinois) - 'The Rosina Project' is an original adaptation of Rossini’s comic opera "The Barber of Seville" that mixes MCs, street-dance artists and opera singers with a live DJ and beatboxer to tell a contemporary story of female-driven empowerment through an immersive hip-hop battle.
Guns 'n' Rosenkavalier (Minnesota) - For the first time in Chicago, Andrew Wilkowski and Lara Bolton bring their genre-busting fusion of an art song recital and a rock concert — truly the love child of Franz Schubert and Lady Gaga – in a riot of rule-breaking, genre-bending fun, featuring arrangements that span from Metallica to Schubert, Springsteen to Strauss, and Madonna to Brahms.
The Tapestry (Kentucky) - Queen meets Pavarotti… The Tapestry plays an unapologetic, high-octane fusion of the best of opera and rock. Ryan Opera Center alum Corey Crider and his rock-opera fusion band deliver their tributes to Bizet's "Carmen" and Michael Jackson's magnum opus "Thriller" in their "Thrilla in Sevilla".
