Filipa Estrela (any pronouns) is a crafter, cartoonist, performer, costumer, educator, and storyteller; sometimes all at the same time. They are a working artist living in the Providence, RI area and are a member of the Queer Archive Work and Binch Press studio. Filipa’s creative practice is all about play, experimentation, and blending the everyday with a dose of myth, magic and wonder.
In their works they often draw inspiration from their identity as a queer, gender-fluid, Cape-Verdean/Macanese-Chinese/Portuguese mixed person of color. Their hope is tell stories that are heartwarming, encourage human connection, and inspire others to embrace their own creative selves.
Katie Longua is always looking for ways to make the world more magical. She can take the most boring diagram or infographic and turn it into a piece of art that people will actually want to read. And her artistry extends well beyond comics into video games, fashion, art modeling, and toy design. She’s the person many kids want to be when they grow up, once they realize growing up doesn’t mean becoming boring. Katie has been publishing her own comics for over ten years, including the award-winning RÖK, Her Space Opera, and Munchies.
Issy Manley is a cartoonist, educator and service worker, currently based in New Orleans. Her comics have appeared in Popula, The Lily, The Nib Magazine, Narratively, and Spiral Bound.
Bread Tarleton is an award-winning cartoonist and comics editor for A.B.O. Comix. Bread’s comics range from goofy comedic stories to serious existential explorations. More recently, their work has centered around transness, fatness, and the intersections of these in their life.
Roshan Ganu is a multimedia narrative artist presently based in Minneapolis and originally from the coastal state of Goa in India. Her work brings a narrative, a moment or an emotion to life wherein she employs the tools of linguistics and narrative to meet her audience in a space of vulnerability and reflection.
