I wrote Love's Dark Origin Story because I kept noticing how many love stories stop right before the interesting part — the part where two people have to live with who the other person actually is, not who they were at a party. I wanted to write something that earns its darkness instead of announcing it, where the audience falls for a character the same way the protagonist does, so that everything after hits the way it's supposed to: too late to look away, too honest to dismiss.

As a creator, what I want out of this project isn't just a finished short film — it's proof that a small, character-driven psychological story can be told with real craft on an independent budget. I want to make something that gets talked about after the lights come up, and I want to build a body of work that says I can do that consistently, not just once.
