At age 15, I picked up a Winsor-Newton #2 watercolor brush, dipped it
in a bottle of black ink, and started drawing. Lush flowing lines
brought my comics to life! Now I'm offering Brush & Ink Original
Art pieces in postcard size at an affordable price.
I create and publish graphic novels as "Cat Head
Comics". I'm a brushman! I have a deep love of those
Winsor-Newton Series 7 watercolor brush. Slinging ink with it allows
endless variations of expression.
These original pieces are lush, energetic drawings, the brush strokes
outlining & defining my quest to describe figures & objects
with black line. The drawings coax the viewer in with this visceral reportage.
I'm delighted to offer these original art postcards (5"x7")
executed in brush & ink at $50. It's a great way to own a unique
piece of comic art, and it allows me to do top tier work in both the
subject (every piece tells a story) and execution of each
piece. It's a "luck of the draw proposition", I'm working

My newest published work are the two volumes of my 1956 series,
1956 Book One: Sweet Sweet Little Ramona and 1956 Movie
Star. The 1956 series drops into the "after midnight"
world of Manhattan. We track Jack, Susie and Ramona through the Bebop
jazz clubs of midtown, and intersect with the fashion world. Jack
& Susie vie for a top marketing job, while Ramona navigates the
nightlife of the 1950s at a trans women. The two books together
comprise about 115 pages of comics.

Death Plays a Mean Harmonica is the next book up.
Gertie and Rex get a wild hair and relocate to Oaxaca! Upon
arrival in this cultural hub of southern Mexico, our intrepid
migrants meet Eduardo, the crafty 2000-year-old Zapotec vampire who
prefers chicken blood, El Rey Pelón (the skinny pot-bellied fungus
who drives a taxi) and of course Death, who plays a mean harmonica.
Yup, this is Steve’s fictionalized account of living in Oaxaca 2007
– 2016.
