Wash Albuquerque hasn't added a story.
"When the first wave of attacks began, no one believed it.
Some say it was at dusk, among a small group of people mourning their loved ones in the cemetery.
Others say it was an unknown patient at the Amora hospital who went berserk.
Whatever the case, no one believed it."

Frozen to the Bone is a solo survival horror game with light rules, resource management, story-driven and combats + tests with a 2d6 system, inspired by classics such as George Romero's Night of the Living Dead, Neil Druckmann's The Last of Us, and Arnold Hendrick's Barbarian Prince.
In this game, you will be one of the few survivors of the collapse of the city of Elk Lake, known as Z-Day, the beginning of the fall of civilization as we know it.
Forced out of hiding from your home, all you have left is to try to escape the city, but to do that, you need to prepare yourself by searching for supplies, weapons, and anything else that can help you on your escape. But be careful! The danger outside is not just zombies!

In my country, Brazil, there is a huge lack of interest from publishers and high costs for those who venture to produce an independent game. Thinking about ways to work around this, Zines are a great solution: production is easy, they make the game accessible, and there is immense creative freedom. With just a few pages and a home printer, you can have unique and affordable experiences.
In FttB, you have four skills that can be changed with items or with progression: Strength, Agility, Cunning and Guts.

Whenever you need to test a skill, whether in combat or a challenge, you will simply roll 2d6, add the skill being tested, and add any available modifiers, such as an item or weapon [2d6 + Skill + Mod]. If the final result is equal to or greater than 10, it is a Success, meaning you pass the test. Otherwise, it is a failure.
The game is played in turns, and each turn consists of three possible actions:
- Moving from one space to another: The map of Elk Lake is full of places for you to interact with, searching for supplies and other useful things. Locations are connected by a line and you can move to any side as long as you move to connected locations. You can use a cube, token or anything else to mark your place as you move around the map.
- Resolving an encounter: When you arrive at a new location, you will roll 1d6 to determine a paragraph in the Events. Each type of location has different possible events that you can resolve. There are three types of events:
Narrative: These are events without interactions, but they
complement your story and give you a broader sense of what happened
and is happening in the city.
Interactive: These are events where you can find objects, items,
and also people.
Combat: These are events where you will need to fight to survive.
BUT BE CAREFUL! Regardless of the type of narrative, your choices can definitively and drastically change the course of your adventure.
- You can also use items to heal yourself, such as bandages or food.
Your goal is to escape the city by reaching Space 6: The Highway. However, take your time, because the closer you get to the exit, the greater the challenges and you need to be prepared for anything!
Note: This is just a brief overview of the game. The full zine includes additional details on rules, gameplay, and story.
