EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Follow the Science is a docu-series that examines whether legitimate scientific data justified the political strategies implemented throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The series is divided into five self-contained one hour episodes. The earlier episodes include a deep dive into lockdowns, mask-mandates, treatments, vaccines, and the true origin of the virus. Later episodes connect all these pieces together and look closely at two overriding themes: the corruption and gross politicization of science and the failure of top-down, centralized solutions to grapple with complex problems.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Our primary target audience will be those across the political spectrum with an innate “live and let live” perspective. An important goal of this project is helping moderates of both sides of the political aisle to see how they've been substantially misled by the mainstream narrative; as such, we think it has the potential to serve as a kind of bridge between those that have been unnecessarily divided by something that should have never been political.

OVERALL INTENT

Our goal is to restore Americans’ sense of agency and embolden anti-centralization sentiment regarding top-down solutions to perceived crises. We want to erode citizens’ naïve trust in the proclamations of politicians and public-health “experts”, motivate them to think independently, and push back against future attempts to impose authoritarian policies.

BACKGROUND

2020 was an unprecedented year in human history. The advent of SARS-CoV-2 was a catalyst for deep societal division, government action unparalleled in the modern western world, and the severe disruption of long-accepted norms of human interaction and commerce. 

Questions about the origin of the virus, the implementation of lockdowns and mask mandates, and the rush to a vaccine have created a perfect storm of chaos. This has had one undeniable and disastrous consequence: the removal of the agency and liberty of people across the United States and the world at large, causing unnecessary pain and suffering. 

We believe that Follow the Science: On Lockdowns and Liberty will serve as an accurate documentation of what actually happened in real-time, what worked and what didn’t work, what we can learn from that, and how to communicate about it properly for the future.

FUNDRAISING GOAL: $1.55MM

PHASE ONE: Development and Proof-of-concept Pilot
GOAL: $300K
We will produce a 20-30 minute proof-of-concept pilot episode with original footage, interviews, animations and music that will focus largely on the data and the personal stories and with a target release in the Fall/Winter of 2021.

PHASE TWO: Docu-series Production and First-Wave Marketing
GOAL: $1.25MM
We will produce a docu-series divided into five self-contained one hour episodes. The earlier episodes include a deep dive into lockdowns, mask-mandates, treatments, vaccines, and the true origin of the virus. Later episodes connect all these pieces together and look closely at two overriding themes: the corruption and gross politicization of science and the failure of top-down, centralized solutions to grapple with complex problems. This second-phase will begin releasing episodes in Spring/Summer 2022.
