Dottie Didn't Die started as a larger idea for a class homework assignment I had as a graduate student at the Academy of Art University. I took this large idea and condensed it down for a short film to one day be able to get the larger idea made, you know, how most films come about in general.
The genre is a supernatural horror drama. The heart of the story of Dottie Didn't Die is about Janice, the granddaughter of Dottie who cares for her ailing grandmother till the very moment she passes away in home. After the passing, she is tasked with delivering the eulogy. As she delivers the eulogy though she is stunned by the haunting return of a certain family member.
The purpose of creating this crowdfund is simple, I don't have the money but what young filmmaker does. What I do have is the talented pool of friends to help me create this film and I'd like to pay the homies for their services because when you break bread then everybody eats. I will use this money to pay actors and crew, secure to film locations, and for post production work such as editing and music.
If you chose to donate to this project then you're name will be listed in the end credits no matter how much you donate as I realize it takes a village to get anything done and the village deserves to be recognized for their efforts. But for those that choose to donate $100 dollars or more, they will receive a signed copy of the script Dottie Didn't Die, signed by the full cast and crew of this production as well as producer credit in the film as it is your hard earned money that will be able to make the filming of this short possible.
