These six issues (#s 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12) will complete the saga of teenage special FX wizard Bobby Feckle that began in issues 1-6 of Serious Creatures and is now collected in the Serious Creatures Reel 1 trade paperback.

Every issue of this series is written,  drawn, lettered and colored by me, Tony McMillen. If you know me (and you don't know me) it's from my other comics Attaboy , Lumen, the Friday the 13th bootleg comic called The Last Mask or my prose novels An Augmented Fourth or The Bleeding Tree Trilogy.

It’s 1974, Bobby Feckle is fourteen years old and sneaking onto the set of some movie about a shark terrorizing a New England tourist town.

The movie will change Hollywood and Bobby’s life.

…If they can just get the damn animatronic shark to stop sinking.

Serious Creatures is the story of a teenage special fx artist working in Hollywood, riding the new wave of practical effects that carried the movie revolution of the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Get a front row seat to the rise and fall of an industry and an art form; all from the perspective of an adolescent iconoclast who helped shaped both before he was even old enough to shave.

This final arc picks up with Bobby at age 21 at the helm of only his second solo act as special fx supervisor on a movie. And it's a doozy called It Knocks about a shapeshifter alien picking off a bunch of men isolated in an Antarctic research facility.

Our main character Bobby Feckle's career is modeled off the legendary Rob Bottin's career.

Bottin was the teenager who made monsters for films like Star Wars and Piranha as an assistant to Rick Baker and then graduated in his early 20s to run the FX show for films like The Howling and John Carpenter's The Thing.
