El Elixir es un cortometraje cuya intención es hacer reír.

Es cierto que detrás de cada risa podemos encontrar un trasfondo más serio, más grave. Todos podemos descender a las mazmorras de las emociones y sus correspondientes resurgimientos, ya que la vida es una sucesión de nubes y soles. Pero... ¡ca!, en esta ocasión propongo colocar la risa como prioridad y contrapeso de otras energías.

La risa, siempre, como terapia.

La idea de hacer este cortometraje nació hace unos tres años, mientras estudiaba Dirección y Producción de cine. Los vaivenes de la vida lo han retrasado pero, a la vez, han convertido el proyecto en algo más maduro, más complejo. Mejor. El guion es algo más extenso, los actores me encantan, el equipo técnico, una maravilla... y así. Lejos de cansarnos, la pasión aumenta también. Este es el momento de compartirlo contigo e invitarte a ser partícipe de ello.

¿Por qué un crowdfunding?

Grabar un cortometraje es una tarea compleja y cara. Esta es la primera vez que lo hago, pero no por eso es un proyecto menor o algo que transitaré a la ligera. Todas las personas que componen el equipo de El Elixir son profesionales en activo, que se han adherido al proyecto con pasión y el mismo nivel de compromiso que si se tratara de una superproducción. Así que a mis ojos, lo es. Y espero que a los tuyos, ya que, como colaborador del proyecto, podrás seguir nuestras andanzas, tendrás acceso a las actualizaciones del proceso. 

Vamos a hacerlo de la mejor manera posible... y, además, disfrutar del proceso.

Volviendo al tema de los recursos disponibles: el tiempo de los implicados es el más valioso de todos, sin duda. Aunque, por otro lado, será necesario alquilar equipo técnico (iluminación, sonido), alimentar esos cuerpos valientes con un catering en condiciones, pagar algunos artículos de atrezzo, etc. Además, cuando el rodaje acabe, comienza el proceso de edición y, finalmente, la distribución del mismo. La intención es presentar El Elixir en diferentes festivales de cine. Nadie sabe hasta dónde puede llevarnos esta aventura. ¿Te animas a acompañarnos?

Sinopsis

Isabel recibe la visita de una nueva amiga, con la intención de conocerse mejor. Todo va bien hasta que una reacción de Azucena cambia el tono de repente. El tranquilo aperitivo se convierte en una jornada muy... dinámica.

Una tercera persona estará pendiente de todo lo que pase y, a su manera, marcará el ritmo de los acontecimientos.

El deseo mueve a cada uno de los personajes de manera diferente.

Su motivación es banal e inocente… ¿o no tanto?

El equipo técnico

Está compuesto por cracks, algunos de ellos muy jóvenes y con una trayectoria ya envidiable. No hablaré aquí de todos ellos, aunque sí pondré el foco en nuestro director de fotografía:

Pau Perelló es un cineasta y productor mallorquín, cofundador, junto a sus hermanos, de Objectiu Produccions.

Alcanzó reconocimiento internacional con “És Comèdia”,seleccionada en la Short Film Corner del Festival de Cannes.

Ha trabajado como director de fotografía en proyectos premiados en festivales como Mumbai y San Sebastián, colaborando en títulos como Pacifiction y Tardes de soledad.

Es el director de la productora OP Vision, con sede en Albuquerque, Estados Unidos.

Su portafolio incluye también documentales y campañas publicitarias (Life Pro, Nordisk, Rosa Blanca...)

Ha participado en proyectos editoriales y de contenido, así como colaboraciones en Forbes junto a Raimundo Filmmaker.

Ana Sayes es Azucena, una mujer peculiar, con férreas convicciones y alto sentido de responsabilidad. Si hay que hacerlo, se hace.

Paula Lizana es Clara Luz, una guía para algunos. Aunque no todos tienen esa opinión de ella.

Pitt Garau es David, el oscuro objeto de deseo de Isabel. ¡Es tan mono...!

El Elixir is a short film whose intention is to make people laugh.

Of course, laughter often hides deeper layers — echoes of something more serious, more human. We all descend, from time to time, into the dungeons of our emotions, only to rise again. Life dances between shadows and sunshine. But ah! That’s where the magic lies: in knowing how to strike a balance. This time, I choose to place laughter front and center — not as an escape, but as an act of joyful resistance.

This short film idea came to life around three years ago, back when I was studying Film Directing and Production. Since then, life has done its thing—twists, turns, delays—but in the process, the project has grown. It’s deeper now, more layered. Better.
The script has evolved, I’m thrilled with the cast, the crew is a dream... you get the picture. And instead of burning out, our passion just keeps growing.
Now feels like the right time to finally share it with you—and to invite you to be part of the journey.

Summary

Isabel welcomes a new friend, eager to get to know her better. Everything flows smoothly until Azucena’s reaction shifts the mood in an instant. What was meant to be a quiet, laid-back aperitif suddenly turns into a day full of… unexpected twists.

A third presence will observe every moment unfold, subtly influencing the rhythm of events, marking their own unique tempo.

Each character is driven by desire — but in their own, often conflicting, ways.

Their motivations seem simple and innocent… But are they really?

Why crowdfunding?

Filming a short movie is no small feat—it’s both complex and costly. This is my very first time taking on such a challenge, but that doesn’t make it any less meaningful, nor is it something I’ll approach lightly. Every member of El Elixir’s team is an active professional who has joined the project with passion and the same level of commitment they would bring to a blockbuster. So in my eyes, that’s exactly what this is. And I hope in yours too—because as a collaborator, you’ll be able to follow our journey and get exclusive updates as the process unfolds.

We’re determined to make this film in the best way possible... and, just as importantly, to enjoy the ride.

Now, about resources: the most valuable one, without a doubt, is the time and dedication of those involved. But we’ll also need to rent technical equipment (lights, sound), keep our brave crew well-fed with proper catering, cover props and set pieces, and more. And once the shoot is done, there comes editing—and finally, distribution. Our goal is to present El Elixir at different film festivals. Where this adventure may lead us, no one really knows. Our team is made up of true talents—some of them remarkably young, yet already with enviable careers. I won’t go into detail about everyone here, but I do want to shine a spotlight on our Director of Photography:

Pau Perelló is a Mallorcan filmmaker and producer, co-founder (along with his brothers) of Objectiu Produccions.

He first gained international recognition with És Comèdia, which was selected for the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival.

As Director of Photography, he has worked on award-winning projects showcased at festivals such as Mumbai and San Sebastián, collaborating on titles like Pacifiction and Tardes de soledad.

He is also the director of the production company OP Vision, based in Albuquerque, United States.

His portfolio includes documentaries and commercial campaigns (Life Pro, Nordisk, Rosa Blanca...), as well as editorial and branded content projects, including collaborations with Forbes alongside Raimundo Filmmaker.

But, why am I diving into this adventure? Back in 2021, I set out to learn how to create great videos. I tend to juggle many interests at once, and often… well, I amplify things. One thing led to another, and suddenly I was studying Film Directing and Production.

My background? A bit of a multiverse: coaching, fashion, even television here and there. As a designer, stylist, and occasional fashion photographer, aesthetics are second nature to me. But filmmaking — this — is something else entirely.

It’s vast. It’s alive.

There’s something mesmerizing about diving into every single detail that shapes a visual story. A short film, in its essence, is no small thing — it’s a world condensed into moments.
