Two zine games at once? What madness is this?!

DISASTER/WING and DISASTER/PEACE are sister games about heroic teens charged with saving the world under wildly different circumstances, allowing you to easily emulate your favorite Mecha or Magical Girl media. Each game stands alone, or the two can be mixed and matched at the table for a fun mecha + magical girl game experience (Did someone say mighty morphin' powers?), the choice is yours.

To make your decision to pledge as easy as possible, we've included entire Character Creation chapters for you to preview a little further down the page. Funding of this project will go toward getting the DISASTER/Games professionally edited, as well as polished with shiny new updated layouts and a physical print run with Crowdfundr exclusive goodies under Stretch Goals.

Introducing the DISASTER/Games.

DISASTER/WING is a mecha tabletop game made to tell stories of fantastic adolescent heroism and giant robots. The characters are teenagers in a city that is actually a giant spaceship, hurtling through space, fleeing a catastrophic war with technologically-superior aliens that destroyed their world generations ago. They go to school, get embroiled in teen drama, and try to find their place in the face of onrushing adult responsibility and societal expectation. They are also, through no fault of their own, the only ones who can pilot the centuries-old war machines that are their city’s only hope when the aliens inevitably return.

Preview: DISASTER/WING Character Creation Chapter

DISASTER/PEACE is a tabletop roleplaying game designed to emulate your favorite stories in the Magical Girl genre. The Characters are teenagers in a world very much like our own. Only, they are the chosen guardians of a world which is under constant threat of destruction by twisted monsters, evil magic, and vengeful immortals from beyond our realm. They exist between these worlds, juggling their teenage feelings and responsibilities with the duty that has been thrust upon them.

The Game System

Forged in the Dark but adapted to fight darkness, DISASTER/Games run on quick, d6 dicepool-based, fiction-first mechanics that prioritize the best parts of their genres (fighting evil by moonlight, and winning love by daylight?) and cuts through fiddly planning to get you and your friends right into the action. You'll be dealing with teenage drama, investigating mysteries, fighting evil, and saving the world in no time.

• Both games include easily customizable archetypes, upgradeable powers, and a host of pre-made and terrifying villains perfectly suited to inspire your first game.

Get the Ashcans After the Campaign Ends

Once the campaign ends, we'll send out game keys for everyone to snag their game copy, or copies, from our itchio storefront. Depending on the number of keys we need to generate it can require manual approval from itchio staff which can take a couple of weeks. These games are not edited or polished yet, but they are a ton of fun to play and will hold you over while we're working on the finishing touches!

Stretch Goals

3k - We'll add a matching bookmark to every physical zine that goes out!

5k - Editor bonus! We pride ourselves on paying our team members well, but the higher we fund, the more bonuses we can give out. If this unlocks we'll add $100 bonus (roughly +10% on this project) to our editor's invoice. This stretch goal also repeats at every 5k mark hereafter!

7k - Upgrade your physical zines with fancy paper quality.

>9k - Did someone say exclusive ARTWORK? Anything over this mark will allow us to bring in fresh artwork—starting with new, cohesive cover art. The higher we fund, the more we can add into the interior, too!

Scott Mann (he/him) - The developmental editor who ensures each word, punctuation mark, and rule fits our setting, themes, and audience. He fell in love with games in the late 80s, and later dealt in rare and hard-to-find rulebooks and supplements for over a decade. Today, his love of games continues, taking the experience of reading and playing dozens of roleplaying games to the TTRPG space. Technical Details

This is our fourth overall crowd-funding campaign, and we've become just a little bit better at anticipating friction points with every new project. Since we've built out our own print studio over the last year, we have far more control over production timelines and can accurately gauge our prices by ordering in our paper and other needed stock immediately after Crowdfundr concludes. We're very proud to say we have a track record of budgeting well and delivering our games to supporters, even during unheard of periods of inflation and material shortages.
