Fractal Droid - BM 2022 Honoraria Art Grant Sculpture Fractal Droid is a collective of highly calibrated creators with the goal to design, produce, and build the next evolution of Interactive Burning Man Sculptures. Working together to build upon our collective visions, we aim to produce art that will bring together the community to celebrate and share our knowledge with one another - accelerating our dreams into reality. The Fractal Droid Collective consists of some of the most passion driven artists, digital designers, fabricators, and creators from around the world. Designed by  Jenna Marie & Aaron Sierra (Cryptalogik), and the Fractal Droid Collective, the Fractal Droid will feature films produced by Dutch Visual Fractal Artist  Julius Horsthuis and American Visual Fractal Artist Fractaled Visions (Keith Anderson), Glass Chrane (Steven McCory), Beeple, and more. This project will be an interactive sculpture to hold space for both inspiration and philosophy of the integration of man and machine; artificial intelligence, virtual reality and the modern day human cyborg. Technology is already an extension of oneself, it is only a matter of time before we are fully combined with our creations. The Fractal Droid is a 17 Foot Tall Pop-up Theatre and Sound Stage (Off-Playa) The droid is only 50% built. It still needs top, side, and back-side spine di-bond intelligent lighting systems, back-head steel welding additions, and visor upgrades. However, the droid is not the only thing we are working on - We are also building a massive sound camp with High-Fidelity Speakers at the burn as a new large-scale sound camp for house and bass music where you can experience the droid. Infrastructure, sound, energy, fuel, water, elixir bar, sanctuary dome - all are factors that we are raising money for! Help us reach our goal and put Austin on the map at Burning Man as a premiere destination! If you’re not familiar with the Droid, Jenna Marie Finney & Aaron Sierra came up with the idea to make a Burning Man sculpture back in 2019 - collaborating visions seen in both her paintings and his jewelry. We wanted to make something that brought together some of the best digital artists of our time, while still getting to create art ourselves and share with the community! Fractal Droid was originated in Austin, born in Chicago - premiering at ARC Festival, and now back in Austin being staged and ready for lift-off for Burning Man 2022! At the moment we have been lucky to raise a healthy $12,000 on top of our BM Art Grant for our beloved Art Installation. While we've been building this project in earnest, the most difficult challenge we face is funding this sculpture. And this is where we need YOU! By helping fund this extension to the Art Installation, you are helping grow our community on and off playa - allowing us to create essential infrastructure for the future of all our events for when we get back to Austin! Fractoids Garden - Sound Team (Funding Seeking : Transportation Costs and Logistics)

Fractoids Garden has 3 Tiers of Speaker Configurations that we can achieve by raising funds! If we reach Tier 3 we can bring the entire Hennessey Sound System - Purple & Green bicolor. Tier 2 would be Tier 3 cut in half in the amount of speakers we can bring, with Tier 1 being a 24-speaker array of Funktion-One Sound (F121's and Evo7s).

Fractoids Garden - Main Stage (Funding Seeking : Transportation Costs, Logistics, Projectors, Lasers and Scaffolding)

Designed by Jon Imeson for Astronox Festival in Austin, Texas - this gorgeous stage still needs to make it out to the Playa! With rising fuel prices and transportation costs, making the journey out west is harder than ever before. We need your help!

Fractoids Garden - Portal Infrastructure (Funding Seeking : Equipment Rental, Transportation Costs and Logistics)

The Ocindo Story - "A portal of healing, both collective and individual"

Designed by Ariana Filice, Keenan Conway, and Nathan Doherty. The original build was sponsored by Lucidity Festivals, as the 1st place winner of the Santa Barbara Student Art Grant Competition. Made of plywood cutouts, the structure stands approximately 20 feet tall and 25 feet wide. OCINDO’s pieces assemble together in a multidimensional jigsaw puzzle to form its elegant and ethereal design.

Since its conception, Ocindo has taken on a life and meaning of its own

Not long before this opportunity, Ariana's brother - Nico Filice- took his own life, passing over to the other side just weeks before she began her final year at UCSB. When this happened, she knew that the confusion, grief, and endless questions would be enough to break her or make her. More than anything - she just wanted a safe space to connect with him, or find comfort in the space that now existed between them - and she set out to create that.

“Within this connection point between the cosmic and earthly realms, we invite you to… to release all that no longer serves you, into the loving arms of the universe. Energy is never created nor destroyed, it can only be transferred or transformed. What is lost becomes light. Surrender your burdens and watch them transform!”

A cosmic meeting point between our physical reality on earth and all that exists.

A transmutation station, where we can release, or recover, and recalibrate into the center of all that is.

A place for us to connect- with ourselves, each other, and with that which the eye cannot see.

A tribute, to the ones who cannot dance with us in physical form, but who exist in bold and fierce silence within our hearts.

Fractoids Garden - Performance Arts (Funding Seeking : Equipment Transportation, White Gas, First-Aid and Medical)

Led by fire contortionist Jordan Remar, our Performance Art Team consists of a variety of talent from Aerials, Contortion, Acrobatics, Fire Dancers, LED Flow Artists, Character Performers, and much more! Our team will be providing the gifts of knowledge to the playa this year - hosting workshops for newcomers and beginners in all aspects of fire and performance arts. We are also scheduling special nights to do open burns with our beloved Pyrotex Conclave family camped close-by at Fractal Droid and Fractoids Garden!
