For the past three years, nearly everything I need to run my creative art business and community workshops has been in transit, moving from one storage facility to the next.

I am currently recovering from painful double-hernia and lipoma-removal surgeries, but I am also standing at the doorway of something I have worked toward for years: establishing a new stable physical space for Chantal Chandler Studios.

This campaign is not only about moving belongings out of storage. It is about moving a life’s work back into purpose and recreating a place where discarded materials, preserved stories, artists, community, and new ideas are given room to become something more.

 

💕 Who is Chantal Chandler?

Hello. My name is Chantal Chandler.

I am a multi-mixed-media artist, an award-winning photographer, author, writer, maker, fitness instructor, singer, musician, DJ, caregiver, senior at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and, most importantly, the mother of four beautiful children.

Creativity has been one of the most constant and life-giving forces in my life.

For years, I have worked across photography, mixed media art, sewing, quilting, music, singing, DJing, writing, textiles, paper arts, exhibitions, education, teaching, hospitality, creative entrepreneurship, public speaking, and community-centered projects.

Although these practices may appear different, they are connected by one purpose: helping myself and others feel seen and heard while discovering beauty, value, and possibility in places that are often overlooked.

I am currently a senior at UNLV, focusing on creative practice, management, entrepreneurship, and multidisciplinary studies, but I will be taking the next year off to establish the relocation of my business and new art space.

My goal is to combine my artistic, musical, and fitness experiences, business education, sustainability values, and commitment to community into something that can grow far beyond one individual project.

That vision is Chantal Chandler Studios.

 

💕 What Is Chantal Chandler Studios?

Chantal Chandler Studios is a multi-mixed media art studio and creative-reuse space dedicated to making more with what already exists.

Inside the studio, discarded, donated, reclaimed, and new materials can be transformed into meaningful and useful treasures, including:

• Handmade journals, stationery, paper, and ephemera packs
• Mixed-media artwork and photography
• Quilts, rugs, clothing, and textile art
• Repurposed furniture and home décor
• Memory pieces made from meaningful clothing and belongings
• Sustainable gifts and useful everyday products
• Materials and supplies for workshops and community projects
• And MORE! 

While the studio's primary purpose is to create and sell new and sustainable art and products on a small and wholesale scale, the dual-vision is for it to continue to become a space for various art and fitness classes, collaborations, exhibitions, various creative workshops pertaining to music, dance, acting, etc., creative entrepreneurship, artist and youth development, public events, and more!

It is a place where people can witness stages of transformation of new and used materials into something beautiful, functional, meaningful, and worthy of being kept, as well as various stages of transformation within themselves.

 

 

💕 Why This Moment Is Urgent

In September 2024 my former studio space was sold and I had to abruptly move everything out. (see pics of former studio below &/or in the "My Photo Diary" tab)

For the past three years, my studio materials, artwork, furniture, tools, and equipment have remained in transit, moving from one storage situation to another.

Recently, I came dangerously close to having my belongings placed into auction.

Thankfully, I was able to make arrangements with the storage facility and regain access to my life's work. However, I have now been given a final deadline. Everything must be completely removed by August 13-14, 2026! 

The storage company graciously extended the original move-out date after I explained that I am currently recovering from multiple surgeries. I am deeply grateful for that additional time, but this is their final extension.

I must now move and safely protect years of artwork, materials, tools, furniture, creative archives, and irreplaceable work before this deadline. *UPDATE in "UPDATES" section

 

New Studio Location:

Gratefully, I have found the perfect space that will finally give Chantal Chandler Studios a stable home. It is centrally located so that it is easy for locals, and visitors to find. I have been working with the property owner, and the next essential step is securing the fundung needed to move in, protect the work, and begin preparing the studio.

It will create room for my team and I to fully resume artistic and creative business practices while also opening doors at select times for other artists, makers, teachers, families, students, community members, and more.

In time, my hope is that the studio will become the first seed of a larger sustainable village built around creativity, resourcefulness, learning, dignity, and possibilities.

💕 The Actual Space

Here is a picture of the actual space. The original unit in the 2025 rendering was facing a different direction than the current 2026 rendering, but it is approximately the same square feet. 

I love dreaming up this space and it’ll be AMAZING to see what it originally looked like to what it will be now. Thanks for dreaming this into fruition with me. 🫶 💕 

 

💕 The First Chantal Chandler Studios Location

Chantal's first official studio was located inside the University United Methodist Church (University Church) across the street from her school, UNLV. This summer 2026, the building was completely torn down and no longer exists...except in these pictures and in her and other's hearts and heads. However, the church has plans to rebuild in the future. *Read more about it here: March-May 2026

 

*Backstory: She attended University Church a few times in her teens and regularly attended (on-and-off again for a few years) since going back to college in 2018. When her mom moved back to Las Vegas in 1985, her younger sister and her attended First United Methodist Church (First Church) with her grandmother. It was the very first church established in downtown Las Vegas, where her grandparents lived and was the church where her parents got married. University Church was created out of direct support from First Church.

She got the KEYS! Here is a pic of Chantal with the key to her first very own studio. In this picture, Chantal's hair was growing back after shaving it completely off for her performative art piece, Crown Freedom, from her award-winning exhibition, Wearing Her C.R.O.W.N. in 2022.

Do you see the antique victorian furniture in Chantal's studio? These are some of THE most important staple pieces in her studio. These piece of furniture, all the items, and the whole essence of this room is literally Chantal's life work. 💖 Gift of Preservation - Iconic Photo of the Sanctuary

After I moved everything out of the studio, I gifted the church a large framed photograph of the sanctuary from the photo shoot that Reverend Stephen allowed me to shot after service one Sunday. I did not know at the time that I would be shooting one of the last pictures ever taken of the sanctuary and then gifting it to the church.

This is not about giving myself a pat on the back, although that is an AMAZING picture, lol! 🤣 It is more about acknowledging how import photography is as it commemorates moments in time, documenting people, places and things, that literally no longer exist the second after your finger hits the shutter—photography and art are SO important!

P.S. I took my over an hour and half to find this photo to upload on here. I am SO glad I FINALLY found it after searching forever and not finding it, but remembered I texted Laura (church admin.) before I gave it to them, lol! Phew! 🤪

💖 "The Sanctuary"

After church one Sunday, I asked Reverend Govett if I cold take photos of the sanctuary. He said, 'Yes, especially if it is for a UNLV student. We support all students of UNLV.' I felt very honored and took some amazing photos of the beautiful church I visited several times as a teen and felt a sense of peace within myself.

Most all of the photos turned out amazing because this space was PHENOMENAL! You know, the kind of space you just feel warm and safe in? Yes. That was this sanctuary.

When I heard the property was going to be sold and the buildings where going to be torn down, my heart was deeply saddened. If there was some way I could have transported this particular part of the building and place it on different land, I would have, creating my own sanctuary, an actual home to live and feel safe in.

These wooden beams, the stone floor, and the pews are long gone, but at least this photo exists, so that any time I want to be transported to a place of peace that actually once existed, all I have to do is look at this photo, and there I'll be—Amen.

 

💖 The Outdoor Home Studio

This is me in my outdoor studio, a.k.a., my backyard, lol. I use Ironlak spray paint that I usually buy from Hobby Lobby because it's only $5.99 there, lol, and because I find it stays more true to the color on the can compared to other spray paints I have used. I use A LOT of neon colors in my work, so it makes me happy to see HOT PINK EVERYWHERE. Also, I give my self a lot of points when I wear my respirator because it is SO HOT in Las Vegas and it's hard to breathe without the mask sometimes, so when I wear it I feel extra responsible 💅🏽 ....even if I pass out after I take it off! Lol! 🤣 👍️💯

💖 Chantal at One of Her Ultimate Dream Jobs: The Paper Preservation and Conservation Lab (2023)

Chantal at one of her ultimate dream jobs when she worked as a paper preservation and conservation technician, at the UNLV Libraries Special Collections and Archives.

Chantal has a deep love for paper, zines, and bookmaking. These are some of the skills she will teach in her workshops at the new studio.

I am deeply passionate about teaching, especially art and fitness, because it allows me to help others recognize their innate potential. In every session, I aim to serve as a catalyst, inviting students to transform their inner strength and creativity into tangible form. There is nothing more rewarding than watching individuals who doubt their abilities realize they are fully capable of creating something beautiful.
