I’m so excited to finally begin sharing a dream that has been living in my heart for a very long time 💫
The Mermaid Lounge is a magical new community space I am lovingly birthing on the Sunshine Coast - an immersive cabaret lounge and artistic sanctuary designed to feel like stepping into another realm 🌙🕯️✨
Inspired by the mystery, beauty, sensuality, and enchantment of the oceanic realm, The Mermaid Lounge is being created as a place where people can gather to feel inspired, nourished, connected, playful, creative, and deeply alive.
This vision was originally born years ago on Commercial Drive in
Vancouver through a beloved space I created called Shakti Lounge

It quickly blossomed into a vibrant community hub with
something magical happening every single night.
Musicians, artists, dancers, healers, creatives, and beautiful souls naturally gathered there to connect, collaborate, perform, celebrate, and co create unforgettable experiences together 🌹
Now, I feel deeply called to birth an evolved version of that vision here on the Sunshine Coast 💖
Imagine entering a candlelit world filled with music, beauty, sacred herbs, exotic teas, aphrodisiac mocktails, blissful herbal elixirs, organic treats, Persian carpets, Moroccan pillows, costumes, dancing, live performances, and magical atmosphere 🌹🪷🧞♀️
Beginning June 6th, and continuing Thursdays through Sundays, we’ll be hosting themed evenings designed to immerse guests in unique worlds, energies, and experiences ✨
One evening may feature burlesque performances 💃
Another live
musicians and acoustic artists 🎻
Another DJs, dancing, and
ecstatic movement 🎶
Another immersive themed gatherings inspired
by mythology, fantasy, artistry, beauty, and ancient traditions 🌙
One night a week, after 11 PM, I’ll be opening the space for “After Eleven” ✨ A curated late night acoustic gathering featuring beautiful musicians from the Sunshine Coast sharing their gifts in an intimate and magical atmosphere 🌙🎶
Many of the evenings will celebrate sacred plants, herbs, beauty rituals, mythology, and ancient cultural inspirations 🌿For example, we may host Egyptian inspired evenings honouring the Blue Lotus flower 🪷
I’m also creating a dreamy herbal hookah lounge filled with
cushions, carpets, teas, atmosphere, music, and handcrafted herbal
shisha blends 🌸🍃
No tobacco - simply beautiful herbs, connection, ambiance,
artistry, and conversation ☕✨
This vision is being built almost entirely by hand through devotion, creativity, collaboration, and community support 💖
Right now, we are deep in the process of transforming the space into the warm, immersive, mystical environment we envision. There is still much work to be done to make the lounge fully functional, welcoming, cozy, safe, inspiring, and truly transportive.
✨ Current Community Needs
A magical opportunity recently appeared for us to acquire a beautiful Moroccan lounge collection for the Mermaid Lounge, including hookahs, tea sets, cushions, Moroccan floor seating, and décor that would completely transform the atmosphere of our hookah loft and gathering space.
We are also currently preparing to build and repair the hookah lounge
loft before opening weekend and are specifically seeking:

About the Creator
The Mermaid Lounge is being created by Renee Boje, founder of Freja’s Magic Potions - a mystical botanical brand inspired by beauty, ritual, folklore, herbs, and enchantment.
For years I’ve created immersive experiences through handcrafted herbal elixirs, sacred-inspired products, artistic gatherings, and magical spaces rooted in beauty, creativity, and connection.
The Mermaid Lounge is a natural evolution of that vision - bringing together cabaret, music, mocktails, herbal desserts, mythology, tea lounge culture, and immersive community experiences into one living sanctuary space.
Many of the botanical blissful extracts and herbal creations from Freja’s Magic Potions will also be featured in the Mermaid Lounge’s signature mocktails and desserts ✨
