We’re seeking funding for SETTING THE TABLE, a new psychological horror short film from A Stranger Concept Films, Mad Ones Films, and Caddy Productions.

Written and directed by Dave Harlequin, and produced by Elizabeth Caddy, the film stars Patrick G. Keenan (The Blind Side, Homeland, Outer Banks, and more) alongside a brilliant supporting cast and crew!

This is a low-budget, high-quality project built on collaboration, trust, and an incredible group of talented artists who believe in the story we’re telling. With your help, we can take care of the people who are making this film possible and ensure it reaches the audience it deserves.

Where Your Support Goes

Every single dollar raised goes directly to the making and release of the film and nothing else.

Specifically, your support helps cover:

Food and Drinks
Our cast and crew are working long, demanding days. Making sure they’re well-fed and celebrating together at the wrap is the bare minimum we owe them.

Travel Expenses
Many members of our cast and crew are traveling to be part of this project. Funds will help cover gas, lodging, and basic travel costs so no one is paying out of pocket just to show up.

Paying Our Crew
Filmmaking is hard work. While our budget is modest, our goal is to compensate everyone for their time and effort, not just a select few.

Promotion and Distribution
Festival submissions, posters, promotional materials, physical media such as DVD and Blu-ray, and streaming delivery all cost money. These funds help ensure the film has a good life beyond production.

That’s it. No extravagance. Just taking care of our people and giving the film the best possible chance to be seen. That's literally it!

What Is SETTING THE TABLE?

SETTING THE TABLE is a horror and suspense short film with strong psychological and dramatic elements, much in the spirit of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Tales from the Darkside.

It follows Walter, an aging man enjoying what appears to be a perfect day with his family, until subtle cracks begin to form and he starts seeing things that may exist beyond the veil of reality... or may be something far more personal and unsettling.

Set within the Missing Mile shared universe, alongside such award-winning films as The Blue-Eyed Boy and Mr. Death, Bobby Came Home, and others, SETTING THE TABLE works both as a standalone story and as part of a larger upcoming feature-length anthology, giving it a long shelf life well beyond its initial release.

The Bottom Line

We plan to film SETTING THE TABLE in Spring 2026, with the goal of a worldwide release later that year.
