Howdy. My name is Michael Rock, and I’m the writer and director of “The Ruck March”. You might know me from some movies and episodes that I either cowrote, directed, and/or starred in(the Tahoe Joe series, Midnight feature, Ghost, many more. Look me up on IMDb). I also recently completed the very powerful found footage movie that deals with domestic violence, The Murder of the Monster(soon to be released).
Some background to this movie. I medically retired from the U.S. Army
in 2014. I was a Green Beret, and have done many amazing things. After
that, I took a job fighting child exploitation. I’ve been doing that
around 10yrs, and on a daily basis I have to look at the worst that
humanity has to offer. As you can imagine, it takes a toll.
Around 8 years ago I started running endurance events based off
of my time in US Army Special Forces, and I could remember thinking
“Wow, I lead people in the middle of nowhere. This would make a great
horror movie”.
Fast forward, and I’ve hung up my official rucking boots, and am
now into acting/filmmaking as a way of balancing my mind with the
horrors I see at work.
After acting and making movies for a little bit, I’ve decided to pull the trigger on this movie. The main cast has been selected, and filming has begun. The final shoot will take place August 31, 2024 in Fallon, NV. This movie is wild, and will take people on a fun(and hopefully scary) ride.
I’m making a campaign in order for more folks to get a chance to get in on this movie, as well as helping with post production assets. Regardless of what happens, the movie is being made. Thanks for your support!
