Welcome to Big Egg Vinyl Club

At Big Egg Records we've spent the last few years helping DIY / Punk / Alternative bands from South Wales and beyond to release new music.

We've helped them to get reviews, airplay and grow as bands. We've made T-shirts for them, helped them with artwork, videos, and just about anything else.

However, we've noticed that there's something bands need that is currently missing from our scene: The ability to get their music onto vinyl in short runs, that are actually affordable.

We want to change that by purchasing a vinyl lathe cutting machine to cut records for our bands, all the other bands around here, and anyone else in the same situation farther afield too.

We are looking to raise £3000 to purchase a 7-inch single cutting machine (and some consumables), which we can then use to start producing low-cost, short-run singles, making it a genuinely viable option for bands to add vinyl to their merch boxes.

Once this goal is achieved, we will be raising a further £4500 to purchase a 12-inch LP cutting machine. We expect that the majority of this will come from 7-inch single production outside of the local area, plus further crowdfunding.

NOTE: Some rewards are not available in certain places because we didn't work out shipping for everywhere.  If you want something and it won't let you order it, let us know directly and we'll sort it out.

Who are we?

Big Egg Records is a small DIY label run by Luke (from The Woodsman) and Owen (from No Murder No Moustache).

We've both played in other bands over the years too and we know that it can be difficult to navigate everything that you need to do nowadays as an independent band.

We set up the label to help and support DIY bands to release new music, and to share music that we love with the world. We also run a radio show on Monday nights playing all our favourite new Punk / Rock / Alt tracks: www.bigeggrecords.co.uk/radio

Most bands we work with have a non-existent budget, and we've spent years learning how to do most of this stuff whilst spending as little as possible. In a world where massive corporations are squeezing every penny out of the industry, we're trying to help as much as we can. It's not much in the grand scheme of things, but it is needed.
