Kaylee Foster is known in her town as a dance prodigy that is destined to be great. When her parents die in a tragic accident, Kaylee is overcome with grief before a big audition, sending her into a deep depression. After having the worst audition of her life, she moves to a city where she can hide, or so she thinks.

She finds an apartment with roommate, Zaiyah MItchell, who is a top dancer in the dance battle community in her town. The two struggle to connect as Kaylee battles her mental state but Zaiyah is determined to get to the bottom of the who, what and why of Kaylee Foster.

As they grow close, we see Kaylee regain confidence as she prepares for the audition of a lifetime.
