Project Story: Surfers of Bulleji
In the small coastal village of Bulleji, near Karachi, a group of self-taught surfers are living a life of resilience. By day, they fish to survive. By dawn, they’re riding waves, crafting their own surfboards with whatever materials they can find. They’re not wealthy, but they are rich in spirit, and they’ve created a unique surfing culture against all odds.
I’m creating this documentary to share their powerful story with the world. It’s about more than surfing—it’s about perseverance, passion, and the bond between people and the ocean. I want to shine a light on these surfers and the community of Bulleji, highlighting their ingenuity and the beauty of a life lived with purpose, despite financial hardships.
