My name is Bryan Ford, and I am a senior film student at Missouri Western State University. My final thesis project is to make a short film. My film is a fantasy drama film titled The House of Mirrors, which tells a story of two estranged siblings named Joseph and Victoria who are transported to a mirror dimension and must come face to face with people and experiences from their past. The film has many fantastical elements such as the mystical beings that inhabit the mirror world, and Joseph and Victoria's shared childhood imaginary friend, Sterradonkle. The film will premiere at the 2025 Griffon Film Festival held in April and will be published on Youtube shortly after in May.
With this film, I hope to push the boundaries of what can be done with a student film. In order to fully execute this film properly, some funding is required. Renting locations, buying costumes, props, and food to feed the cast and crew is essential for this film to reach its fullest potential. Our goal is 525 dollars.
I want to make this film because it's not all that common to see sibling relationships be the focus in a film. A lot of myself and my life has gone into this story, and I think it needs to be told. Stories have the power to impact people. Throughout every generation, stories have inspired people. From the folk tales of old, to the movies, tv shows, and books of the modern day. I hope to inspire people not just in terms of the story, but also to encourage other artists like me to make art that is bold and creative. To dare to be different. I want this film to represent who I am as an artist and to be used as a showcase of what my collaborators and I are capable of doing. We are artists and artists need support.
