The Mind's Eye is a 25ft pop surreal sculpture made of hand formed steel. This wild and giant beauty is about overcoming adversity, and traumatic life experiences through strength, persistence, humor and a little absurdity.

The artist went heavily into debt to create The Minds Eye and didn’t meet fundraising goals. Any donation helps. The project took longer to create than anticipated and cost more $ than anticipated. Funds will go towards helping the artist. 

The Artist

Launa Eddy has been an artist in NYC for 20 years, first learning to work in metal in 2013. She has received scholarship at Anderson Ranch Arts Center, shown work at Art Basel, and has spent the last year working full time on building The Mind's Eye with the support of partial grants. This will be her first large scale work and will be shown at Burning Man: Waking Dreams, and The Reno Tahoe International Art Show in September 2022. 

The Crew

The Mind's Eye wouldn't be possible without the crew of helpers, welders, planners and art lovers that have come together to turn a drawing into physical reality. The Mind's Eye crew adheres to the Radical Inclusion and Diversity Initiative, with more than half of the crew being POC, queer, female, and representing people that have overcome great struggles and difficulties to find personal freedom from religion, dangerous power dynamics, abuse, and beyond. 

Crew has worked on The Mind's Eye from New York, Washington State, Boise, California, Arizona, India and Portugal.
