Hi, I'm Auri! I'm an 18 year old singer, musician (sax, piano, ukulele), beatboxer and artist attending high school in Ontario, Canada.

I've been accepted to A Cappella Academy's 2022 intensive 10-day summer youth vocal music program to be held this year at Scrips College on the outskirts of Los Angeles, and am fundraising for support to pay my tuition (approx. $3000 CAN) and travel fees (approx. $1500 CAN, although it is starting to look like they will be well over $2000), so that I can participate in this once in a lifetime experience.  

In return for support I'll create a custom music video or digital art piece just for you.  Or as a gift for a friend or relative!

But First, A Bit About Me:

I love A Cappella singing and Jazz music! I sing in three octaves, beatbox (vocal percussion), arrange music, and play piano, saxophone and ukulele. And I love to perform! I also enjoy making my own multi-track recordings with many-layered harmonies and producing my own accompanying split-screen videos which I post to my YouTube channel. Like this one, my own arrangement of Ghostbusters. 

I've been singing and making music in some form or another since I was a baby. When I was learning to talk, I would ask my parents to tell me the name of things around me, and then demand that they sing a little song about them (like a bed headboard, for instance), by saying "Singing, headboard"? And yes, there was a song about my parent's headboard, and they still remember it today! I've been in various music classes every since, and for the past 7 years I've been performing - with my high school's bands and choir, and with local youth bands and music groups (choirs, A Cappella groups and Jazz groups) - at various local venues, festivals, and competitions. 

I plan to attend a post-secondary music program and hope to one day be a professional musician. In the meantime, I am absolutely thrilled to have been accepted to the A Capella Academy's youth vocal music program in Los Angeles this summer! This international program only accepts around 75 students a year so it is a real honour to have been selected. You can check out a snippet of my audition video that I posted to TikTok here. 

I love being a part of my local music community and singing and performing with others. The past two years have been really, really hard, as Covid has really made it difficult to make music with others. The time has allowed me to work on my solo projects and multi-track recording and video skills, but I really miss singing with others. The idea of getting together with 75 other youth at A Cappella Academy is beyond exciting. I can hardly wait!

DONOR REWARDS!

All donors to my fundraising campaign will be invited to a private online Zoom concert in June that will be for donors only! (date TBA). You are welcome to donate whatever you can (anything at all is much appreciated), but you can also select a donor level to get custom music and art rewards ("Perks"). I will do my best to fulfill all custom rewards as soon as possible (and within a week or two), but may need a bit longer if I am busy with a school project at the time.

About A Cappella Academy:

A Cappella Academy was founded by such music greats as Avi Kaplan of Pentatonix, Ben Bram, and Rob Dietz. Wow! It brings youth together from all walks of life, and from all around the world, to form life-changing connections through a love for music to help mentor the next generation of leaders in the world of vocal music. I can't wait to be a part of it!

Academy alumni have brought their talents to a variety of professional projects as well as some of the most prestigious scholastic groups. In the larger music industry, they have been prominently featured on film and TV soundtracks, on Broadway, as well as in vocal competition shows including The Voice and American Idol. Other alums are flourishing in the fields of music education, music therapy, composition, musical theatre, music production, and beyond! Many of these alums credit A Cappella Academy with helping to develop their skills, connect them with friends who have become key collaborators, and inspiring them to chase their dreams.
