WHY WE'RE MAKING THIS PROJECT
As independent filmmakers, we want to create stories that feel cinematic, unpredictable, and genuinely engaging. THE SECRET LIFE OF A SERIAL KILLER began with the idea of telling a psychological crime story from a different perspective—following a homicide detective as he investigates a disturbing series of murders while his own life becomes increasingly complicated.
Our goal is to create a gripping vertical mini-series that combines the cinematic quality of a traditional thriller with a format designed for modern audiences. Each episode is created to keep viewers engaged and leave them wanting to know what happens next.
The series will star Sam Whitten in the lead role and will be produced as an independent project with a passionate team dedicated to bringing the story to life.
THE PROJECT
THE SECRET LIFE OF A SERIAL KILLER follows a respected homicide detective and his new partner as they investigate a disturbing series of murders.
As the investigation becomes increasingly complex, the detective's life begins to change when he meets a woman who quickly becomes an important part of it. As new evidence emerges and the pressure grows, the detectives are pulled deeper into a case that becomes more complicated than either of them expected.
This is a dark psychological crime thriller told through cinematic vertical episodes.

ABOUT THE LEAD ACTOR SAM WHITTEN
Originally set on becoming a firefighter, Sam Whitten’s path took an unexpected turn into the arts when he moved to New York City at 19 to study at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre. His career began with roles in soap operas such as Guiding Light and As the World Turns, before landing the role of Eddie Barton on One Life to Live. From there, he appeared in Law & Order: Criminal Intent, LANDMAN, The Lowdown, Army Wives (opposite Gina Rodriguez), and international films including The Whistleblower and Beauty and the Billionaire: Bali. He is currently guest recurring on the new soap opera Beyond the Gates. On stage, Sam’s credits include Off-Broadway productions of In the Heat of the Night, Basketball Diaries, Blindness, and the first-ever staging of Fahrenheit 451, which also toured to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. An adventurer at heart, Sam has traveled the world—working with a Belgian carnival, exploring the mountains of Transylvania, and immersing himself in life on the savannas of Zambia and Zimbabwe. For two decades, he has thrived living his dream of creating and collaborating with artist around the world.
ABOUT THE PRODUCER
LARRY SANDS
Life, Love & My Passion For Creating
My first passion has always been acting. On stage or in front of the camera, it, is what I love. Being creative and building a character that is all its own and hopefully taking the audience on a journey through character and story.
Once I found that I could be creative on the opposite side of the camera I was sold. I can still create a story, but on a different level. Not just for the character but for the overall look and feel of the piece. I now get to create time and pacing and emotional content of whatever I am working on; a short movie, promotional video, music video; I get to build from the ground up.
Whether I am working on a script or armed with my camera and his computer I am always working on projects that I am passionate about.
ABOUT THE WRITER
Jess deKoter is a Dutch filmmaker and writer with a passion for creating original stories that stay with audiences long after they have ended.
After completing film school in Amsterdam, Jess continued pursuing a passion for storytelling and developing original ideas for the screen. As the founder of Lonelens Filmz Productions , Jess is continuing to build a creative path focused on developing and bringing original stories to life.
Writing has become an important part of Jess's creative journey, allowing Jess to explore different characters, worlds, and stories from the very beginning.
Jess is particularly drawn to character-driven stories, psychological thrillers, horror, and drama. The goal is always to create stories that do more than simply entertain—stories that make audiences feel something, question what they have seen, and remain in their minds after the final scene.
For Jess, every story begins with an idea. Sometimes that idea comes from a single character, a situation, or a question that refuses to leave the mind. From there, it grows into something bigger. Writing is the process of discovering those characters and their world and finding the story hidden within them.
Through Lonelens Filmz Productions, Jess is working to turn original ideas into films and create opportunities for those stories to reach audiences.

Lonelens Filmz Productions is an independent production company founded by filmmaker and writer Jess deKoter, with a passion for creating original and memorable stories for the screen.
The company is co-owned by Larry Sands, who brings his experience as an actor, producer, and Director of Photography to the creative team.
Together, Jess and Larry are building Lonelens Filmz Productions around a shared passion for filmmaking, storytelling, and bringing ambitious original projects to life.
