Hey, everyone! We are Brando Frangipani and Jasmine Deerloaf, a writing and artist duo - and welcome to the official campaign for Silver Lynx! It tells the story of Michael Matthews as he learns to fight crime while also adapting to a human world that he hopes to be accepted by!
The reason why we decided to embark on this project is to tell a story that would be different from most mainstream media while also continuing the nostalgia audiences would find in traditional animated films in the likes of Disney and DreamWorks. Right now, superhero media in general has hit a fast decline except for a few recent successes (ex. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Spider-Man: No Way Home and Deadpool & Wolverine). That's why we are wanting to share our story with the world so that we can offer something brand new!
The project campaign is mainly going to be focused on funding our first volume: New Hero on the Wrong Block! The story starts with Michael finally escaping from experimental captivity after over twenty years and his attempts to try and be a superhero where humans despise him for what he is and how his existence is put into question.
What we mainly need the crowdfunding for is to hire more artists to join our creative team while also capturing the style shown in the comic pages to come! It costs a lot of money to start a project as ambitious as this, and we want it to be properly financed before publishing it in the next year or two.
All of the supporters who back our project will become honorary members, or honorary heroes of the campaign! Not only will you be helping us churn out pages more frequently for our launch, but there will also be some additional perks to look forward to (ex. behind the scenes updates, character doodles, etc.)!
