Through fjords and mountains, through wondrous realms and rainbow bridges, between the mundane, the fantastical and the divine, From Midgard To Eternity is a solo roleplaying game about seeking glorious death after a life full of deeds that defy belief.

This apocryphally biographical game will task you with journaling the life of a Norse adventurer throughout their remarkable life, challenged by the gods themselves to fulfill tasks and quests ranging from the intimate to the epic.

"What happens to a Viking who does not die while raiding? How do they get to Valhalla?"  Those were the questions we asked ourselves. We found answers, but the idea of designing a TTRPG to grapple with these questions burrowed into our minds, and we felt the powerful need to turn this idea into a reality.

The media touchstones that inspired us most deeply are Vinland Saga (Makoto Yukimura), God of War (2018), Thor: Ragnarok (Taika Waititi), and The Banner Saga (Stoic). Mechanically, we love Aaron King’s Speedrune and found it to be a deep wellspring of ideas.

GAME DESIGN, WRITING & LAYOUT

Armanda is a queer TTRPG designer from Argentina, part of #RPGLATAM. She mainly focuses on solo gaming, ranging from sci-fi to slice-of-life games, from horror to cozy. Her most popular games are Paranoid Android, a solo game about not knowing who you are, AI, philosophical questions and treason, Grandmothership, a game about old ladies in space, and Once And Again, a solo game about bringing stories to the world and contemplating how they have life of their own. 

GAME DESIGN, WRITING & EDITING

Hipólita is a trans lesbian TTRPG designer, writer, editor, consultant and general spinner of plates from Argentina. In her designs, she focuses on discussing colonialism and gender and letting mechanics express those themes through play. You might know her from her work designing Cantrip, a GMless game about queer witches at school, and RAD, a look at mutual aid, transhumanism, ideology and the state in a Sovietpunk Central Asian wasteland.

Amanda Lee Franck is a Chicago-based artist and writer working on making up new kinds of monsters, zines, and comics. She is best known for a trilogy of boat-based rpgs that include You Got a Job on the Garbage Barge. and Vampire Cruise.

INTERIOR ART

Vapordruid is a queer Argentinian artist (she /her ) exploring the boundaries of mixed media on graphic outlets and game design,  as she' s searching for a style of her own . She makes small games and draws thumbnails for Sesión Cero , a podcast in Spanish about TTRPGs.

The team at Plus One Exp will manage logistics for printing, shipping, and fulfillment. The cost for international fulfillment includes duties where possible.

Once the books are printed and have arrived you will receive a single-use promotional code good for the cost of the book. You will use that code on the Plus One Exp website to check out and pay for exact shipping at that time.

You may have noticed we’re not including any stretch goals for From Midgard To Eternity and we wanted to clarify a bit. This isn’t an oversight - we have a very clear vision for this game. We know exactly what the game we want to make looks like and we’ve crunched the numbers to figure out what we need to get it done while paying our artists fairly. We do not wish to overcomplicate or bloat this game with additional features that go beyond our established concept. We hope you understand.
