Empower Unstoppable Tracy to Conquer the World Cup Waves in Australia – March 2025!

I’m back!

Hello my fabulous Australian Hansa World Cup supporters friends and family! It was an extraordinary time in a beautiful place. The race courses were set up near Scotland Island, which was kind of fun because we were in Australia and the waters were full full full full of jellyfish at one point when I took water in my boat I was concerned I might get a jellyfish too. :-) One of the things that slowed us down was sadly hitting jellyfish would you believe?

Overall, I learned so much. I had an extra extraordinary Coach named Grant, who is a past Paralympic coach… International level …very high performance. The conditions went from very light to no wind at all …all the way to Gail force …we saw every kind of weather. My beautiful new Canada looking sails were red, white and red really popped in the pictures and spectators always knew where I was. I’m easy to pick from the pictures and being new were very good for heavy winds nice and crisp. Because of the Gail force wins we had to cancel three races. I had three great races and I had three very bad starts which influenced where I ended up. I’m considered 12th in the female in the para worlds. I get to be proud as this is a new boat that’s being introduced to the class of boats and it’s not overly modified for me. It’s a charter boat and my competitors all had arms and legs and essentially look like they are able bodied. Something invisible is making them legally minimally disabled so I held my own as the only one without hands and legs And no adaptions..

Back home the boat I Sail Martin 16 has an Aid that mechanically supports me with the main Sail and has a self tacking head Sail (or jib.) Where as this boat I had to manually pull in both sails in addition to steering… all very new for me.

People back home all of you were above and beyond supportive, helping me reach past my goal. Your donations helped me buy a sail [Which is required they don’t come with a charter), charter a boat, also supported camp bunkbed style accommodation, and camp food, and my flights! Lastly, your funds supported my registration and my memberships and a few boat parts. :-)

Sail Canada, Canada Sail GP, and Ontario Sailing all supported me with kindness and some outfits. The rigging shop donated a life jacket, a compass and a safety radio for the boat. And Broadreach foundation donated a Helly Hanson foul weather jacket! There were also many Sail Canada athletes and sailors who donated old gloves, hats, sun shirts I was the best dress sailor there! And Travel Buggy donated my travel wheelchair! All in all extremely supported! 

Next year, there’s an international event in Barcelona 2026training for the next worlds which happen every two years… Next one is in France 2027!

2025, The US championships are the end of April in San Diego and I have other upcoming races in Chicago, New York and Rhode Island. And throughout the summer, there are races in Ontario and Quebec that I will compete in provincially and nationally. 2024 all of these races in North America I finished first a few times, then once received a second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth funny enough …let’s hope they’re all podium this year!

extremely grateful to have been able to go to the worlds internationally and elevate my North American game! So many positive thoughts to you all thank you for your interest in my journey! In my heart of heart, it was really important to me to represent Canada In Australia. It was important to me that Canada be one of the counted international countries and each and everyone of you made this happen!!
