SYNOPSIS :
In 1954 a naive but extremely talented young man, Asa Lee Perkins, makes his mark on America playing a new and wild music called Rock-A-Billy. He is soon catapulted to superstardom through records, television and eventually movies. Along the way he witnesses the terrible plague striking American youth - drug addiction. Using his martial arts skills, learned in the Army, he begins a one man crusade against the lowest echelon of street dealers. His goals then broaden as he brings in his closest friends and bodyguards to bring down the drug suppliers. Although discreet, his actions gain the attention of D.E.A. agent John Burroughs. Burroughs enlists Asa and his crew to infiltrate the Mafia through his Hollywood and Las Vegas connections. They make some headway into arresting pushers, suppliers and mob Captains.
A little background
Fresh out of High School I enrolled at the Joe Kubert School for comic illustration. I left my first year intimidated by the talent surrounding me, and gave up on comics as a career. But I did not stop creating. For twenty years I fronted a band where I wrote over 150 story-songs (mostly murder ballads). This series is my return to the creative world of comics. It's good to be back.
