Lumé: A Legacy of Strength, A Future of Empowerment

I was raised by a Chicano student activist—a quiet revolutionary who believed in justice, culture, and the power of our roots. From childhood, I was taught that pride in my heritage isn’t optional—it’s in my blood.

That pride shaped my path. In high school, I became a peer educator and culture club leader, holding space for voices like mine. By college, I took that passion even further—organizing rallies and workshops for BIPOC students, and helping others navigate the painful realities of systemic racism. Carving out new paths where none existed—I designed my own major—merging computer information systems, ethnic studies, women’s studies, and community organizing—because the world I wanted to build didn’t exist yet. So I started building it.

Now, through Lumé, I’m using the power of AI to create something I rarely saw growing up: empowering, visual storytelling that centers BIPOC women in strength, beauty, and truth.

What Is Lumé?

Lumé is a bold creative project that uses AI to produce powerful digital art and cinematic videos that celebrate BIPOC women in roles of strength, beauty, and influence. We’re reclaiming space through empowered imagery—where women of color are centered, uplifted, and reflected as heroines, leaders, and icons.This project is my “why.”
