“Uprooted” is an original theatre piece, written by Juliana Spínola and created between New York City, Mexico City, Sao Paulo and now shared with a cast from different parts of the world.

We want to gather this amazing team to premiere the play in New York City in October 2023.

In this transcendent, stirring, and heartbreaking play, a group of women from different cultural backgrounds come together to tell their own stories, the stories from our past and the stories from the future we wish to build. They learn that we must stand for each other - especially for the women who are simply trying to survive the choices of others.

This play is about more than just feminism. This play delves into the realities of the female experience and how, even across cultures, we have more similarities than we do differences. Every woman is celebrated here regardless of nationality, race, ethnicity, age, who you love, etc. 

“Uprooted” [Desarraigadas] es una obra de teatro original, escrito por Juliana Spínola, creada entre la ciudad de Nueva York, Ciudad de México, Sao Paulo y ahora compartida con un elenco de diferentes partes del mundo.

Queremos reunir a este increíble equipo para estrenar la obra en la ciudad de Nueva York en octubre de 2023.

En esta obra trascendente, conmovedora y desgarradora, un grupo de mujeres de diferentes orígenes culturales se unen para contar sus propias historias, las historias de nuestro pasado y las historias del futuro que deseamos construir. Aprenden que debemos defendernos unas a otras, especialmente a las mujeres que simplemente intentan sobrevivir a las decisiones de los demás.

Esta obra trata sobre algo más que el feminismo. Esta obra profundiza en las realidades de la experiencia femenina y cómo, incluso entre culturas, tenemos más similitudes que diferencias. Aquí se celebra a todas las mujeres independientemente de su nacionalidad, raza, etnia, edad, a quién amas, etc.
