The first book, THE NIGHT PRINCE & THE ROSEFINCH, is available in many places, but the original draft of the story is still available for free if you'd like to learn what these demons are up! Check it out here if you like original queer mythologies with all the chaotic insanity.

This story started as stress relief and morphed into a passion project exploring mythology and corruption, and of course, queer sex. Writing the finch's journey into sin and romance is such a deeply enjoyable experience, and I want more than anything to give the finch the gorgeous books he deserves.

Things have only gotten harder for adult artists, and especially marginalized artists. I want to be able to make more of my work available in physical form where it cannot be deleted from your library, where it can be touched and held and shared with friends.

The Team

THE WRITER & ORGANIZER:  Roo started FRICTION PRESS years ago when he decided it was time to return to what he loved best: messy, unafraid original fiction. He writes all manner of queer trans erotica, releasing ebooks, softcover books, visual novels, zines and more! You probably know him best from his previous crowdfundr for his t4t eroguro novel,  KNIVES IN YOUR EYES, or maybe for his R18 visual novel about a dystopian city that settles all their disputes with street racing,  FAKE RACING GAME. He is incredibly passionate about independently produced queer erotica and wants to continue creating the best possible books for you!

THE COVER ARTIST:  I'm overjoyed to welcome  SJ Miller back on to make the cover for STILLBORN MOON (and if we're lucky, some interior illustrations as well)! SJ is an incredible artist known for their series MAGE AND THE ENDLESS UNKNOWN, as well as their gorgeous bodyhorror comics including  TO HELL,  an unsettling story about monks fondling each other's divine wounds. SJ has an eye for the beauty found in terrible things and did an incredible job with volume one.

THE SUPPORT ARTISTS:  KMO is back on board to help supplement with more interior illustrations at the beginning and end of the story to compliment SJ's work! You can admire their wonderful art  over here! Danika will be back on to provide connective design tissue with flourishes in the nooks and crannies of the book! Anyone who supported the KNIVES IN YOUR EYES crowdfundr will recognize her wonderful work from that book. Beleghir is back as my invaluable editor. And last but not least,  Subvertebra  is setting our book up for success with formatting both physically and digitally once again!

THE BOOKMARKS: Oh yeah we got new bookmarks. Designed by a mystery artist, we'll have a brand new bookmark printed through Fireball, and I'm very excited. 

The Stuffing

We'll be printing  5.5 x 8.5 inch books again. I'll be using IngramSpark as the printer. They're old standbys for self-published works, and I have no concerns working with them. The book itself has already been written, we just need to make it pretty!

The only actual unknown with this project is whether we'll get enough book orders! Please help spread the word about our campaign and encourage all your cool friends to get a luscious, independent BL from a disabled trans creator who could really use your support! The fracturing of social media and unrelenting pressure on queer adult artists continues to pose a challenge to a lot of creators trying to find our audience, so I NEED YOUR HELP TO SPREAD THE WORD! 

The money you give us will be going straight to printing costs, paying everyone involved in the book's creation, and shipping these books out to all of you! STILLBORN MOON is about 10k words longer than NIGHT PRINCE, so still safely in novella territory. We'll work together as a team to figure out how much art to put inside the book so that it suits the text. My team is amazing and we're all experienced professionals, so I have basically no concerns about the quality of the book we'll make! 

I'm using pirateship again, which has made the shipping process about as easy as it could possibly be. I've tried my best to be as fair and reasonable as possible in terms of shipping & handling prices! These crowdfundrs are shockingly hard work, so I deeply appreciate every single supporter I can get. Every single reward tier (the digital tier and up) will come with a PDF and EPUB of the finished sequel with all the interior art in place, and  any of the physical reward tiers will come with a themed bookmark if we make our goal!
