Momo Cutie is a new anthology series from Laneha House. Named after 2 of our loved ones, it's a celebration of life and equity. Each issue will feature 10 artists and a theme.
The first issue's theme is From the Bay to LA. We are commissioning 10 4-page autobiographical comics from 10 Cartoonists born and or raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County. The anthology will be perfect bound and 8.5x11. Color Cover, B&W interior.
The experimental premise of Momo Cutie. Each artist will be paid, $500 a page. Each artist has 6 months to finish the 4 paged comic and additional funds from the print run, will go to 6 other artists for our Open Mic Project.
Our first artist is Gladys Ochoa! All proceeds from this campaign will go to fund Glady's labor and time to create this comic.
Bio: Gladys Ochoa is an educator, cartoonist and illustrator from the outer Bay Area. She enjoys drawing the absurd situations found in life, often utilizing animals as the characters in the story. Coming from a Latinx family, she uses tongue-in-cheek storytelling to dispel negative stereotypes and celebrate her Mexican/Salvadoran heritage.
