Hey folks! Our short film, Frankie’s Okay, is filming in August and we are launching our crowdfunding campaign! We have secured the cast & crew, locked in the location, and now we need all the help we can get to get this film funded!
Here’s a little bit about us and the project:
My idea for this
film came a couple of years ago when I was having near-constant
anxiety attacks. I have battled anxiety and ptsd since I was a
teenager and the mental/physical toll has been immense. I know a lot
of people struggle with anxiety, depression, ptsd and other mental
illnesses that seem invisible to others. The purpose of this
particular story is to raise awareness for mental illness and educate
others as well as help others who struggle feel seen and understood.
My husband, Bassam, and I developed the story together, I wrote the screenplay and we are producing and acting in it alongside a very talented cast and crew. I will be directing as well. Several of the cast and crew members are frequent collaborators and friends who are seasoned professionals in the industry. Bassam is an actor and published writer who has appeared in film/tv and has experience in theater, film and television alike. He also has experience and expertise in directing, producing and marketing. I have been acting professionally in film/tv for over 11 years and have had supporting & lead roles in feature films, tv shows, shorts, music videos and new media. My freshman film, The Children’s Corner, won first runner-up at a global film festival in 2020 with The Lift-Off Network. This is our first collaboration as filmmakers together!
