I'm Christopher Schardt, an Oakland LED sculptor. I am building the most ambitious project of my career:  a 24'  wide manta ray with 25,000 LED lights. It hangs 18' high, suspended from a tower that also suspends a porch swing. When visitors swing, it causes the wings to flap in the beautiful, articulated way of a real manta ray.

I've been attending Burning Man since 1998 and making art for it since 2000.
