Synopsis

The Last Agent is a short sci-fi/fantasy film about a struggling artist who finds inspiration in a mysterious alien agent whose motives end up being more sinister than she thought. 

Lex is behind on her deadlines and facing eviction when Dahlia falls out of the sky and lands in Lake Michigan one peaceful morning. The two form an unlikely friendship when Dahlia learns Lex is an artist, and the two spend the day enjoying the simple pleasures of being human, Dahlia navigating the world in a human-like body for the first time. But Dahlia’s admiration of artists is revealed to be darkly sinister when she expresses her plans to kidnap them and take them back to her home planet, where their species is incapable of artistic expression.

We have secured $10,000 in funding for this short film and need to crowdsource to bring us to the finish line. The money for this film is going to:

The Team

Creator/Director/Actor

Drew Michele is a filmmaker and storyteller based in Chicago. As a mixed-race, first generation American she likes to explore identity and the intersectionality of our shared existence in her work.  She has been working professionally in film/TV/theatre for almost ten years.

Co-Director

Cydia Simone Flowers is a Chicago born producer, director, actress and interdisciplinary designer. She has her Bachelor’s degree in Film and Psychology from Howard University. She studied acting at Yale University’s Summer Conservatory and directing at the Sundance Institute Director’s ColLab program.

Director of Photography 

Gabriel holds multiple credits working on features, short films, music videos, and advertisements. Gabriel holds a 2019 "Best Cinematography" nomination from the "New York Cinematography Awards". He holds a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts from Columbia College Chicago with a concentration in "Cinematography" and transferred credits from the Babelsberg Konrad Wolf University in Berlin, Germany.  In addition, Gabriel also holds a bachelor's degree from Senac University in "Audiovisual Production" in São Paulo, Brazil.
