DEAR 9 TO 5 is more than a short film. It’s a deeply personal story about every creator who’s ever had to put their dreams on hold just to survive.

The film follows the emotional journey of a creative caught between earning a paycheck and answering the calling that’s been pulling at their heart for years. It’s a story about sacrifice, purpose, resilience, and the courage to believe there’s more waiting on the other side of “just getting by.”

Production is now moving forward, and I’m inviting the community to become part of this journey.

Rather than waiting for the perfect opportunity or the perfect investor, I’ve chosen to build this film with the people who believe in its message. Dear 9 to 5 is being created right here in Detroit because I believe great stories should be told where they’re born. This project is an investment in our city’s creative community and a chance to create opportunities for local filmmakers, actors, musicians, photographers, and artists to work together on something meaningful.

This isn’t just a film about leaving a job.

It’s about every dream that refuses to die.

It’s for the musician creating after work.

The filmmaker editing until 2 a.m.

The entrepreneur building a business on weekends.

The parent sacrificing today to create a better tomorrow.

Anyone who’s ever felt like their purpose was waiting for them after they clocked out.
