I am Koichi Matome, an independent producer running the label Summarize in Japan.

As the official rights manager for the legendary horror master Ochazukenori, I am bringing Japan's hidden manga masterpieces to the world — and I have already started.

Why Now: A Legend's Final Works

Master Ochazukenori can no longer draw. Failing eyesight has forced him into near-retirement. There will be no new works.

What remains are the masterpieces he already created — works the world has never read, locked behind the wall of language. If I don't carry them across that wall now, no one will. This is the only window we have.

Why Me: Two Decades Chasing One Dream

For over twenty years, I have fought to carry Japanese culture to the world.

At a Japanese cultural festival in Saudi Arabia, I sent real Japanese samurai-drama actors to the stage and staged a live sword performance. The crowd's reaction was electric. I was certain: this was the beginning.

Then the pandemic stopped everything.

Locked down — a former salesman with no technical training — I taught myself everything from zero: video editing, web design, content production. But I am a right-brained creator; code was a wall I could not climb. I struggled for a long time.

Then I met AI.

AI filled the gaps I could not fill alone. It gave a single individual — with no major capital and no large staff — the power to take on the world. That is the heart of this project: you no longer need a corporate empire to break the wall. You need a blueprint, relentless effort, and AI as your partner.

Most people imagine "AI translation" as a cheap, one-click trick. That is a mistake.

Manga is visual. The words must be short, sharp, and hit hard. Stiff textbook English kills the fear. So I built a fierce, human-led pipeline:

• Dual AI Output — I feed each panel to both Gemini and Claude for two different translation slants.
• The 3-Way Debate — I bring both translations together and argue with the AIs over the emotion and the horror vibe.
• The "Why" Test — I force each AI to justify its word choices to me.
• Balloon Fitting — If the English is even slightly too long for the balloon, I reject it: "Same meaning. Make it shorter." We repeat until it fits the art perfectly.

The AI is only a tool. The judgment is human. The judgment is mine. 

Protecting the Soul of the Original Art

My number one rule: protect the soul of Master Ochazukenori's original art.

The original drawings stay as true to the source as possible. I process every page by hand in Photoshop, cleaning and lettering line by line. For some steps — such as restoration or coloring — I do use Photoshop's AI tools. But I use them only as a means to keep the artwork as close to the original as possible, never to alter the artist's hand.

The text translation uses AI as a tool. The art is always guided by a human hand, with one goal: to honor the work exactly as the master created it.

Why I Need You: Buy My Time

I have the workflow. I have the official rights. The only thing I lack is time.

I have already finished three works. The next one is only halfway done — I started it, and then time ran out. This campaign is how I finish it.

I am a freelance producer. Every hour I spend on other jobs to pay the bills is an hour stolen from the next masterpiece. When you back this campaign, you clear my schedule. You buy the hours I need to battle the AIs and hand-letter these pages.
