Thistleton High School is a longtime Central Kentucky high school basketball powerhouse. Coach Billy Coleman fights to maintain this legacy amidst bad omens and restless fans. When "old school" retired coach Larry pulls a stunt costing them a crucial game, the town erupts. Coleman faces a devastating ultimatum: resign, or his star players walk. Stripped of his roster, Coleman receives a lifeline from Indiana AAU coach and long-time friend Marty Lopez. With a new approach to the game, Billy Coleman returns to coach Thistleton hoping to return the team to high school basketball greatness.
