A gorgeous hardcover of an illustrated poem that explores growing up as an Asian American kid in Texas in the 1970s and 1980s and grappling with the sense of not quite belonging while simultaneously feeling totally bound to the environment and flora and fauna of the state. The story’s also an elegy to the author's mother,  Jane Pak , and how she taught him to observe and participate in the world.

The book is filled with Jane Pak’s luminous black and white photography, Greg Pak's photos and drawings from the past five decades, and illustrations by a crew of incredible artists, including Sean Chen, Dustinn Craig, Shing Yin Khor, Ann Smith, and Ethan Young. The poetry of the book was set to music and performed in June 2022 in Texas by  Inversion.

Join a three session online group class about analog photography taught by Greg Pak! Fantastic for anyone interested in shooting film! Bring your own camera and learn how to use it! In the first 60 minute class we'll cover the basics of using your analog camera. In the second and third classes, we'll dig deeper into aesthetics and technique while reviewing photos class members have shot and troubleshooting any challenges folks are encountering. Classes will be scheduled on weekday evenings some time in the spring. We'll probably schedule two different sections for the class to make sure we have times that are convenient for everyone.
