#ViolatedNoMore
A Play, A Discussion, A Movement
The Play
Violated by Rebecca Holbourn
World Premiere: Camden People’s Theatre, 4-6th August, 7.15 pm
New Date: Etcetera Theatre, 6th September, 3 & 7 pm
"The first time, it ruined me, but I thought... It's like
a rite of passage.
Now, they've touched me.
Now, I am a woman."
-Woman
"Violated" shares and explores real-life experiences of broken consent and sexual assault, including those of the writer.
As the "Woman" recalls her various encounters, the audience is asked to question, " How many of these experiences have I also been party to? How many have I vocalised to another soul? Why do we keep them secret? ".
The "Man" attempts to vocalise his singular defining sexual assault, the audience is asked to query, “ How much pressure are men under to always appear strong? Do the men in my life feel open to talk emotionally? Do I always feel like I can say “No ” ? ”.
Violated also includes anonymously submitted accounts of violation (sexual and not).
If you would like to share your story and potentially be drawn and read out randomly during the show, then please fill out this Google form. We will also be sharing these accounts on Social Media as part of our Discussion...

The Discussion
We think that it's time for a real discussion about consent and experiences.
It's not about skimpy skirts or saying no to a stranger.
1 in 2 rapes against women are committed by their current or ex-partner.
Women are taught to beware. Men to not be weak.
1 in 4 women, 1 in 20 men - Have been raped or sexually
assaulted as an adult.
5 in 6 women, 4 in 5 men - Do not report it.
Violated, challenges everyone to truly look at when they should
be asking for consent:
Should you be hugging that person? Should you be giving away
their belongings without them knowing in advance? What lack of
consent haunts you from childhood?
We're inviting you to be involved in the discussion. We're going to be posting discussions on Youtube with a variety of people, exploring a range of ages, industries and experiences. If you'd like to get involved with the discussion, then drop us a message.
We’re going to be hosting discussion videos and posting them to our Youtube channel with a variety of different people with experiences in a mix of industries, groups and eras.
We’d love to host a live webinar too, but we can only consider that with your support.
The Movement
The Movement has already started, you’re here, after all. There are so many things we’d like to do to encourage this, but essentially… A wider discussion is what we’re after. For people to openly admit that consent plays a bigger part in our lives than we’ve acknowledged. That sex isn’t the only time consent comes into play.
So, please, talk to your friends, create your own discussions, join in other discussions, join in our discussions, share your experiences and change the world, one slightly hurting heart at a time.
Bring power back to the word “No”. Tell the world that we will be #ViolatedNoMore.
The Funds we need
No one likes talking about money, but everything needs money to be achieved.
For us to achieve the first step and pay everyone on our team fairly, including ourselves for over 8 months worth of work behind the scenes, we’d need to raise over £5000.
Some of this will be raised through selling seats to the play, but selling out the venue doesn’t even raise the minimum amount required to pay the fees and our wonderful actors their full worth.
We’re looking to raise £1111 through crowdfunding to start with.
We need your help and we’d like to offer a variety of things in return, including Promotional items such as Badges, postcards and unique art pieces. We’ll be sharing more details about these as time goes on.
If we’re able to reach stretch goals, then that would allow us to expand our discussion further afield and start to plan how we’d organise a live webinar or a discussion in person. The more we can raise, the more we can also support our wonderful writers and actors on our YouTube channel too.

Who are we?
Dramatic Chaos Productions started out creating digital productions of new writing during the pandemic to portray honest perspectives, create emotional responses and challenge the status quo. This is the first production on physical boards, but it embodies everything Dramatic Chaos Productions stands for.
Rebecca Holbourn is a Writer and Director from London who studied Playwriting at the National Theatre before co-creating Dramatic Chaos Productions. They have had their writing performed at locations including the Hope Mill Theatre, Nursery Theatre and Theatre Deli, as well as on Digital Radio, Podcasts, Youtube and Live-streamed online. They have also directed multiple short plays and films with Life’s Green Pictures, including at the Battersea Arts Centre and Cockpit Theatre.
Tamsin Harding trained in the Meisner technique and Physical theatre. She most recently acted in a UK tour of A Christmas Carol, an International Podcast of new writing and participated in a new Aerial dance and Kinetic drawing project. For the past few years, she’s worked on various TV productions, performed at Brighton Fringe and is excited for her Camden Fringe debut!
Arthur Perdreau trained at the International School of Screen Acting after reorienting from his double degree in Law. He is fluent in French and English, both of which have been used plentifully in work across mediums, from stage to screen, voice-over to commercials, and corporate to songwriting. He’s thrilled to be treading the boards again with such an important issue.
